I just bought the contemperary weapons guide from palladium. It has
RPG stats on real weapons, about 700 in all. I am in the process of
converting them to shadowrun but the book is great, they have sub-MGs
that can fire 17 rounds in second. Do you guys have any recommended non
SR supplements that would be helpful in a game of SR?

It's made by Palladium, it's lame. =)

No it isn't lame. Rifts, the game system, most other palladium things
are lame. But not this book. Though it is overpriced.:<)

Palladium holds a very low position in my list. Considering the mistakes,
blatant and otherwise, in all their books, how can you blame me?

Sounds like the G-11; otherwise between 400 and 800 rounds per minute
(about 7 to 15 rounds per second) is average for fully automatic
contemporary weapons.

Mercenary> Do you guys have any recommended non SR supplements that would

Certainly not anything from Palladium Books :). Try "Guns! Guns! Guns!" and
"More Guns!" from the BTRC, written by Greg Porter; and "Edge of the Sword
Volume 1: The Compendium of Modern Firearms" from R.Tal, written by...
damn, nameserver lookup failure... the guy who wrote Morrow Project.

Also a Sharper Image catalog, a Sears catalog (if you can still get them,
but I think they're out of the catalog business now), and a U.S. Cavalry
catalog. There's also a fliers version of U.S. Cavalry, but I can't
remember their name.

In addition, just abut anything to do with anything, really. Just Like Real
Life(TM).

I'll get cracking on updating your DNS tables...=)

Just like FASA books! =) I love that 3000rounds-per-second gun in SR, and
those wonderfully messed up BattleTech weapons. =)

Heh :). It's Kevin Dockery. And I didn't look in the book.

Battletech aside (which is a tactical wargame written by a bunch of guys
who know almost nothing about tactics or warfare), FASA's gaffes are
nothing compared to Palladium's. Here are some examples:

* In Palladium Fantasy, it states that a diabolist must place area effect
wards on large, immobile objects. It then proceeds to use an example of
placing an AoE ward on a weapon. What's wrong with this picture?
Furthermore, they state that a diabolist cannot trigger his own wards. So
what happens when you draw your warded sword? Does the scabbard activate
the ward? How about if you accidentally nudge that kid in the bazzarre?
(I know a Palladium Fantasy GM and this one's his favorite :).

* Take the Robotech RPG (please!!! :). Over on the Robotech list we're
building a list of all the errors and mistakes, based on animated footage
and some of the Japanese film books (like Macross Perfect Memory). We've
got the mecha section for Book 1 almost finished, and it's almost as big
as the ShadowRN FAQ file.

FASA gets a lot of typos (which is forgivable) and the occasional gaffe
(like the Thunderbolt handgun), but they don't fill a 98-page book with 'em.

And I would recommend making up your own weapons using SRII stats.
Weaponry will be advanced over FASA's designs.

Hi Mercenary X.
I am in on this from the side, but I do have a copy, and I agree with

Gian-Paolo. It is lame. For a better book try Modern Military Small
Arms or Military Small Arms of the 20th Century, or any other serious book.

If you want one with game stats try to find a copy of The Armory, volume
1, printed by Firebird Ltd. Get a second printing if you can. Much
better book.

Guys--
(and Ladies, too :)
We covered this about 3 months ago. Hayden had all of us write in supplemental
information, and he collated it. We spent about 2 weeks haggling over it, and
then Hayden posted it to the net. I'd repost, but I can't find my copies.
Try the backlogs..

Who cares whether you talked about a long time ago. I think we all could

Hold on a mo' -- wasn't our Fearless Leader collecting this stuff
for inclusion in the SHADOWRN FAQ? I'm about 95% sure that that _was_
the purpose....

Shouldn't that be 3000 rounds per minute ? Even a six barrel Minigun has only
6000 rounds per minute(that's 100 per second).

Know where I can get hold of BTech erratta, like for the Technical Handbook
in particular (its the worst case of FASA errors I've seen). [I think its
the Technical Handbook - anyway, the one with the HV ACs and TC missiles etc)

Damion
PS Sorry about the complete non SR of this post
