This is very enlightening.....Here in America, I've only read the books...

(How did Holly not go poof? At the end of the series, I thought he only had
something like 8 seconds of operation left...)

I've not read the books, but in the episode "White Hole", they were existing
in second hand time spewed out of the white hole. Holly had his/her IQ
boosted in the same way Talkee Toaster had, and kept turning himself off....

Then Lister did a neat snooker shot with a few planets, sealing the white
hole.

The time stopped spewing out, and the time-line they were in (along with
them) ceased to exist....

None of it actually happened anymore....
(If there's one thing you can count on in Red Dwarf, it's paradox...)
