I suppose that would work. I think you are underestimating the fragility of
a glass weapon though. I think I would use something along the lines of:

When a glass wepon is forged it has a rating of # of successes on a Glass
Weapon B/R (2) roll. Modify this by +2 per size category of the weapon
(Knife/Short Blade/Long Blade/Very Long Blade) So a glass knife would be a
TN 4.

If a glass weapon inflicts a Moderate or higher wound, it breaks, unless a
roll of Rating vs Impact armor can be made with at least 2 successes.

I guess that's a bit complex, but I guess I really wouldn't want my players
running around with glass weapons anyway...

I was thinking more of volcanic glass like Raven from Snow Crash uses.

Keep in mind of course, that certain types of armour are completely ineffective against
glass weapons. Kevlar comes to mind, it is good against bullets, but not edged weapons
that are sufficiently sharp.
