/>Hey, speaking of HMHVV, has anyone done any runs around a cure for it?
/
/I think any cure would do precious little good, considering they'd be
/dead from a complete and total lack of essence anyway.

Huh? <Arnold> What you talkin about Nexxis? </Arnold>

Victims of HMHVV are not undead.

I think the point was that the infection power requires that the victime
be drained of all essence. After that, the new vamps essence comes from
the use of the essence drain power. Taking that power away (by healing
them) might also take all the persons essence away.

But hey, vampirism CAN be cured. Or at least wedigoism can be. All it
takes is (according to FASA) a great ghost dance ritual or (according to
Bull) a clone and a memory transfer.

Both of those are pretty hard to come by, needless to say.

We did a run where a person (my PC) who was a vampiric PAWN was cured.
That required abducting the top researcher in the feild, and capturing
the pawns "master", so that his genetics could be used as part of the
cure. We still ended up kinda screwed, because the researcher ended up
in the hands of a bunch of influential vampires and ghouls. Hey, where
else were we gonnaget a genelab? On the upside, we are in kinda good
with the great vampiric conspiracy...
Note that the cure has still not been effected, and as he's sitting in a
gene-jar hooked to simsense for some months, he fully expects to get
royally messed with. (I havent played that character in more than 6
mo's).
While he's in there, they are doing some minor things like making sure
he don't burn his ass off with more kamikazee, and changing his
skincolor and some gentic markers to make him harder for mean people on
whose property he may have spilled blood to find him. I'm not talking
ritual sorcery- I'm talkingif he goes and does it again, out of habit.

Anyhow, enough blather. Sounds like you made a good decision as a GM
not trying to cram a cure into a 2 week time, but maybe need to decide
just what the unfortunate fellow decideds to do with about his new
lifestyle, at least to avoid trouble forthe rest of the players
characters.

Ahhh, but we don't KNOW that a ritual will cure it, because that wasn't
the final end result OF the ritual, was it?

I'd rather have them at least TRY, rituals can have certain unknown side effects
to them. :)
