Okay, FASA has pushed a few things back it seems (according to their web
site)...

Target: Smuggler's Havens was originally scheduled for April; it's now May.

Renraku Shutdown is June.

Corp War, the second expansion for the SRTCG (gotta love the fact they are
working in the RPG story into the TCG game; course, it also give them an
excuse to make more cards for people to buy) is due in July.

The SRTCG Second Run is bumped to May also if I recall.

It's not listed, but SR3 is supposed to be out at GenCon in August, then to
the general public at your local hobby store in September.

What I want to know is when the frag is Blood in the Boardroom coming out?
It's listed under both "Products Released" which would imply it has at
least been shipped, and under "April Releases" which doesn't mean much.

So when is it out? All Star Games is getting tired of me walking in,
seeing it's not there and walked out in a huff, I'm tired of driving over
there after work every night.

Anybody got any kind of specific release date?

*clutches chest* FASA?!? Pushing things back?!? Nooo! *shakes off
the dripping sarcasm*

I'm actually surprised they admited it this time...

Well, in order to keep the masses happy, they are probably releasing
it this month. It probably won't hit stores for a couple more weeks.
They prolly just updated their website early.
I'd check again around Mid-month.

A gaming store tired of seeing a customer? Naahh...
Do what I did with my old store in Georgia- just have 'em call ya up
when it comes in.

who the hell knows? personally, i haven't even been able to get a hold of
'Technobabel' even though it's supposed to set up the CorpWar (still kind of
bitter about not being able to find it ;] ). personally, i've noticed that my
local gaming store has things in stock about a month after FASA says that it
has been released
then again, i live in Ohio, which may account for something. we're the test
market for a lot of products, but get everything dead last <eyeroll>

It's out. I've got a copy - picked it up last Friday. And I don't
even live in the US (Yay Canada!). :-)

Think I answered that...

Boy, are people going to love what happens - I haven't had time
to read much yet, but I did read through the timeline and synopsis.
The whole corp world gets turned on its ear. Much fun. :-)

Well I don't know about the sourcebooks, or the gm screen, but I do know
that The Terminus Experiment has been printed and has a Jan '99 bookstore
release date. That means that it will be in bookstores in December (second
or third week) and that it should be in game stores in a couple of weeks.

If anyone is interested in a sneak peek at the book, I will be putting up a
short excerpt from the novel on my website in a few days. Hopefully by the
weekend.

I'm also going to post excerpts from all of my other novels for anyone who
hasn't read them.

Wouldn't this be more a result of the way novels are distributed, and
written? I would imagine that FASA does their own sourcebooks, and whomever
the current novel publisher is (ROC?), handles the distribution. I'd also
imagine that when a novel is done, you pretty much know it's done (and if it
takes a long time to edit, that just means someone's slacking). The
rulebooks need art, rules testing, editing (we hope), etc. etc. etc.

The GM screen *should've* been quick. Though it would be nice if they did
more with the Critters than copy the text from the ones that they liked in
it, with SR3 modifications. (I'm still bitter that they weren't in the main
rulebook).

If you think FASA's bad, try Columbia Games. Their stuff is hands
down the best role-playing material on the market, but it takes forever to
get it. We're still waiting for the Trierzon module (original release
date of June, 1987). So thank your lucky stars that FASA is only a few
months behind.

I remember those guys, although I haven't messed with any of their stuff in
ages.
(If it is who I think it is anyway). But if they are that late....oi..at
that point I almost wouldn't consider them a viable live system anymore.
If they don't support it, I hope the net still keeps it alive. :)

Umm... Who? Forgive this rather ignorant question but I have never heard of
hem or the game? Which game is this? If the system is so good where have
have I been? I have in my library (actually it's an oversized and overstuffed
closet) MANY different game system from the terribly esoteric one shots to the
bigger still "living" games, so um... again I ask, who?

Well that's a single really exaggerated example of a delay. FASA put out
five books this year for SR: Mits, Corp DL, SR QS, Rev SR Comp, and M&M.
MitS was due out Nov. of 98, and hit some six months later. M&M was due out
August, and came out four months later. Corp Punishment, Cannon Comp, and
YotC were all slated for 4th Quarter of 1999.

That seems a pretty bad track record for the entire year for a big game
company. MitS and M&M were worth the wait, and Corp DL was quite nice, but
the QS and Rev Comp didn't fill the remaining void. QS has a short adventure
at the back, which is new, and Rev Comp did a nice job of giving new Shifter
rules and compiling older sourcebook info, but I really dispute that 1/3 of
the book was new.

So in the end, 1999 has felt like 3 SR releases: MitS (due out last year),
Corp DL, and M&M. They were all worth the money, though. I'm thankful FASA
puts out quality product and doesn't rush out WW-type splatbooks. But I will
not feel thankful that FASA only misses a release by a few months, because
those few months get tacked onto the end of the time period we'd already been
waiting since the last book.

Going solely by the title, I would assume it's an adventure book, and
knowing FASA's last adventure books, it'll fit in with the sourcebooks
released just before it.
