This whole thread kinda reminds me of an incident that happened a while
ago on a MUD I was playin'...

There was this guy who called himself "Christian , Follower of Jesus
Christ". Apparently, he got the wonderful idea to make a ministry out of
playin' MUDs, where he would spread the Gospel out over the
"gossip" channel and let all the people out there know just how it was
going down. He would broadcast out hymns and more modern
Christianity-related songs, and, as you might expect, a lot of people got
quite annoyed. For whatever reason, he grok'ed that I'm Christian myself
("Zen Methodist" or something along those lines :*) ) , and confided in me
that "these people just can't handle the Truth". After a bit of chatting,
we managed to get him calmed down a bit, where he'd decided that the best
way to get The Good News out would be to just be a cool person and wait
for a good opportunity to explain how it is that he manages to stay so
unruffled.

On a semirelated note, I could definitely see the Church in the 2060's
picking up a lot of metahuman members... orks and trolls especially, as
it's been pointed out. Despite what a good number of people might say,
there are a lot of Reasonably Decent (and even nice) members in churches,
and with a large influx of folks who need something to help them make
sense of something so random and nonsensical as goblinization
(second-generation metahumans might have a different outlook), they could
very possibly look to a large organization of friendly people who tend not
to flinch when they walk by. For similar reasons, the newly goblinized who
remain outgoing enough to deal with people would probably find themselves
moving towards joining up with all sorts of other organized religious
groups, smaller cults, and associations like that. Come to think of
second-generation orks and trolls, if the 'rents are going to church,
they'd probably be taken along as well, possibly getting into the habit of
doing this themselves. Most Christian groups aren't out to start up
another Inquisition...

Have fun, kids :)
