I just got a Thomas Brothers map of the King, Pierce, and Snohomish
counties a bit ago, and today I was looking it over. I'm updating my
Seattle maps for greater accuracy y'see.

Well, what I got on to mention is that nearly all of the present day
City, State, and Federal government buildings occupy the space that the
game designers used for the Renraku Arcology. I think it's rather funny,
myself.

A few years ago I asked the designers if any of them were native
to Seattle. It turned out that none of them had ever even been there.
It kinda shows, neh? Like, most of that land just plain can't be sold.
The "historic Downtown" is under Renraku too. That's the Ork
Underground. Renraku goes some 3 or 4 basements deep, and the
Underground is only one basement deep.

Oh, well, I should expect accuracy? It ain't Hard World, it ain't accurate.

I find it very interesting, being from the Seattle area to look at the
maps and see all of the differences. The first time I played with my most
recent group, I found it hard not to totally go through and piont out all
of the mistakes that the group were taking to heart. But then again, this
is fiction, and when should we be so concerned with making fiction into
the truth?!?

Actually, it's probably right.

The place was in chaos for a few years. Corps can do what they want...
why WOULDN't they buy up the old city buildings, in exchange for making new
ones somewhere else? It's make 'em into more like "kings" of Seattle...

Sounds like good planning to me.

Good point Tim, I didn't think of that. It does seem strange though.
