Here is the shortened version ... enjoy guys .. this way I do not have to send
a copy of this to each person individually ...

Mike

=============================================================
The Mechanics

Name : The Mechanics
Astral Contact : Omaeteotl
Type : Initiatory / Dedicated The advancement of technology and
magic.
Member : 20
Limitations : None, even mundanes allowed.

Brief Description : The Mechanics believe in the advancement of the SOTA
curve, and pushing the technology curve further through the use of magic and
whatever else they can lay their hands on. They also believe that the
dissemination of advanced technology should be done carefully, so as not to
cause imbalances in the world at large.

Strictures
Group
Oath :Taken at their first grade they achieve with the
group.
Material Link : Normally in the form of a thesis-work, required
after the
second grade is achieved with the group.
Individual
Attendance : The group has quarterly meetings, and there is a
meeting of
all the members that happens once a year on July 8 ... this is supposedly the
date when the current astral contact came to the original Mechanics (when
secrecy was a stricture).
Belief : Members share the belief of increasing the SOTA
of technology and
magic, both on their own and together (magic and tech), but also tempered with
reason and wisdom. They also are suggested to teach/mentor people interested
in learning.
Fraternity
Karma : This only applies to when the members are
working on projects that
they are working on.
Secrecy : Never admitting or confirming the existence of the
group.

Flaws
-1 Day Job (1) : Members must have some sort of job.
-2 Thirst for Knowledge (Moderate) : Members like to seek out information on
new technologies and other theories, both mundane and magical.
-3 Unfinished Project : Each member has some task that is never
ending, like
Herc's, continuous improvement of the panzer line of Beauty.
-1 Technical School Education : Though not a true flaw, every member
must
have this edge in order to gain entry into the group, or at the least either
College Education, or Mechanical Education (for B/R skills).
-2 Dark Secret : There are some members which belong to
the more estranged
and feared totems within society.
-1 Trademark : Anything the members work on always has
something peculiar
about it.
Edges
+5 Creation Array : When group members are together and working on
the same
project, they are able to share any task pools which are pertinent to the
task.

+5 Bonus Edge Point : For every grade the member has they will
gain an edge
point in either the Skills, Mental, and Miscellaneous categories. Enhanced
Centering can also be acquired at a 2 point edge cost.
+2 Centering Skills : Mundanes gain a centering skill for
every level of
‘grade' they achieve.
+3 ‘Task Bonus' : Whenever group members work together on
a project, they
will gain an additional point in the task bonus area, at the end.
+1 Team Pool : A team pool for the Mechanics will
exist, and all members
will need to contribute a point of karma to join in the group.
+4 Lower Initiation Cost : Mundanes who are a part of the group do
not
suffer the group modifier for the karma cost for purchasing edge points.
Mundane Grade cost = 6 + Grade.

=============================================================

Just so everyone understands in the following section ... BKAMPTO stands for
the following ... B/R, Knowledge, Athletic (includes all sorts of physical
improvement, even sports), Magical, Physical Sciences, Technical Skills, and
Other ... these refer to the overall categories in which the people have their
general life goals ... a note, Other can also mean that the person's Life Goal
has absolutely nothing to do with above skills, and could even include the
creation of a corporation (which one of the new players has a life goal).

(Binder) Just you wait and see what the future brings Herc..."YOU" made a
promise believe it or not and someone is out there that is going to come and
collect on it...

Spidey Mon...the upgraded Mechanics will be out in a week or two (or three),
complete with all the changes that will have happened in the games here. The
Winternight Wars are coming close to being done with...the Spirit of New York
has been freed and the Ark of the Covenant is in their possession....

(hey, the end of an 11 YEAR campaign is big...believe me)

Hey Elton, how did you think they found the damn thing ... you should have
seen how long it took for them to find the right warehouse ... and that did
not include all the fun they had in breaking open all of those identical boxes
to boot ...

Have a Merry Christmas,

Mike
