In the third edition, it says that anyone with a magic rating can set up
a
ward. Does this mean that physical adepts can now establish wards, or
is
this a poor choice of words is the description of the ward placement.

As long as the physad has bought Astral Perception then, yes, that's exactly
correct.

Chris Maxfield We are restless because of incessant
<cmaxfiel@****.org.au> change, but we would be frightened if
Canberra, Australia change were stopped.

No, its exactly correct, although you must be "capable of astral
perception"- i.e., you have to buy the power, and be able to use it (though
the warding process does not seem to require that you use it to make the
ward)- this would restrict an Adept with geas on his Astral Perception power
from erecting wards when the geas was active. Note that all Aspected type
awakened characters do have astral perception.

...and has a Sorcery skill, as I believe Sorcery is what you roll
to see if you have succeeded in creating the ward.

<sounds of K searching through books...>"...hmmmm....SR3-Page 174(Wards)...it
only takes a Magic Attribute test...nope, no Sorcery skill required
here....further back, it doesn't even require Sorcery to get past one for
that matter either..."</ends of shuffling sounds>
