it is said it comes w/ a built-in level 0 I/O processor ....and i think the
VCR has this function as well...

speaking about shadowtech (i don't have it at hand so i can't tell exactly
how it is said, but tis in the cybertechnology chapter), i remember reading
something about dividingf cyberware in 4 categories: senseware, bodyware,
matrixware and head(/cephalo?)ware, each one having its own interface. has
someone ever worked on this? and what does it exactly mean? was it a project
for a new cyberware system? if yes, will we see it in SR3?

I do have my copy of Shadowtech handy and there's no weird rules for the
interface itself, mostly because the interfaces are the trails of gold left
behind by the nanites used in the final stages of surgery. As for the
separation, I find it odd that they made a distinction between headware and
matrixware, since the illustrations show both of them mounted on the same
breadboard in the schmuckie's skull.

However, I do believe that Wigs' SR Archive does actually have rules for
subprocessors and interfaces for the sensory stuff if you really want them.

These rules were only important if you used the cyberware damage rules from
that book, or for interest's sake. It divided the different types of
cyberware into categories, and each category had a controller that controlled
all of the pieces of cyberware in that category. It was free with the first
piece of cyberware in the appropriate category, and costed no essence. It
functioned invisibly to the character. It allowed for the possibility of
damaging the controller with cyberware damage, and losing the functionality
of all cyberware in that category. Other than that though, it was fairly
un-used.

There are a few rules for damaging the subsystems on p.40.
