What, in Shadowrun, as a PC or an NPC? They're not available to PCs (BTW,
werewolves are called shapeshifters, seeing that there're more than just
wolves) except if you use some house rules that say they are.

For NPCs: people may get infected with HMHVV when bitten by a vampire,
which turns the victim into a vampire as well. Shapeshifters get born to
shapeshifter parents, and they are animals that can assume human form, not
the other way around.

There's also the possibility of adapting WW's WoD to SR, in which case
vampries get made by one vampire sucking all the blood from a mortal, and
then letting him/her drink some of the vampire's blood.
Werewolves I don't know, I've never played W:tA.

Yes, somewhere in the world there is this *one* guy that's coming
up with all these .sigs, and cussing everytime he sees someone
else grab one of them. :) --Joe Cotton

Wow! You are going to make me remember a LONG ways back. In 1988-1990
(I don't remember when) a magazine printed unofficial rules for being
a vampire. I know it wasn't DRAGON, but it was a major (US) gaming
mag. The essence of the article said:

Go for it

Yup, that's about all the rules they gave. Just allot priority "A" as
race, and expect to get some major alergy problems and social
problems (and you thought people were prejudice against orcs, just
wait).

Insert Darrin's Signature here
(Impressive, eh?)

It's a fun character. Can't remeber the mag though. The copies in Jersey.
Forgot to bring it here with the expanded allergy rules from a Challenege
mag. The character wasn't magically active or anything just some pedestrian
who ended up lunch.
