My oldest character in Shadowrun, and the one I've had the most fun
with, started off as a by-the-book Bodyguard template, no
modifications whatsoever. :) After going as far as possible (with
the materials available at the time) in the combat direction, he's
now a fledgling decker as well.

I used to think 12+3d6 was a really GREAT initiative roll. :)

Then I got a chance to look at all the new stuff that's come out in
the last 3 or 4 years. :(

Guns don't kill people -- geez, do you know how many times you
have to hit someone with a gun to kill them?!?

Its pretty good in my opinion even now. Sure there is some amazing
stuff out there, and in the game i'm running it gets used, it is
uncommon now not to have someont or thing go over 40! and the record
is well over 50 (NPC thankfully) but in a more reasonably powered
game an average of 20 or so is very good, i mean do those many
opponents have access to stuff to make them go that fast ? i mean
where are all these opponents comming from anyway. I am trying to
slant my own game more towards politics, somewhat due to PC's with
btween millions and a thousand million yen and the Karma levels fast
approaching 300 for some folks. I don't think they are going to
retire and live happilly ever after soon, far too many Mob, Yak and
Triad problems :) and now theres a Corporation whose name brings
screams from my older players getting involved, and it hasn't even
anything to do with Transys Neuronet :)

Gee, my shaman has a reaction of 4 +1d6 and I love playing her. I guess I'm
just missing the point of this darn game...

The only thing that hurts more than paying income tax
