Hi folks,

I'm looking for some help in some research I'm doing. A long, long time ago
(back when there was still only one edition), there was a mention in one (or
more) products (it was in the novel "Night's Pawn" IIRC, but it might have
been in other novels or sourcebooks also) about a project/plan/conspiracy
called the European Restoration.

What I'm looking for is to confirm/deny that the European Restoration did
appear in "Night's Pawn" and to learn if it appeared in any other books of any
type.

I own "Night's Pawn" and the Germany and France sourcebooks and I don't
remember anything like this, though I know that Lofwyr had plans to restore
a united Europe, his Europe. And that he had found people who shared his
vision.
Meanwhile, Europe stays just as fractious as it ever was.

There was a passing mention to "the Restoration" by the Revenants leader,
Shavan, and how Saeder-Krupp was "helping" to bring it along. This was in
the prologue, in the meeting between her and Alexander. However,
immediately following that she was killed by Alexander and Alamais,
presumably with the intent of denying the Revenants' help to Lofwyr.

I do vaguely recall other references to a goal that some polis have of a
United Europe, but I couldn't begin to tell you where else to look. It's
never really been represented as much more than a policlubber's pipe-dream.

Oops. I goofed in my last post on this topic. I said "United Europe" when
I should have said "Divided Europe." That's what I get for posting at 2am.

I dug up my copy of Night's Pawn, and the actual term used was "Europa
Dividuus."

As I read the context, it goes something like this:

The Restoration is the slow rebuilding of Europe from the aftermath of the
EuroWars and the Crash of '29 (the conversation in question is taking place
in 2048).

The "official" plan, backed by the corps, is to rebuild a United Europe
with a high degree of industrialization. (Presumably the British Greens
are an exception to this plan.)

A lot of policlubs, however, want Europe restored to its
many-nations-many-cultures persona of years past, in the name of diversity.
They also want the Restoration to be naturalistic rather than industrial.

Where all this has gone in the intervening 12 years is anybody's guess, but
either way I'd say it's probably a fait accompli by now.
