Well, I know it ain't the best of supplements, but it's all FASA
has put out so far. Besides, a customized Rolls van is pretty schweet.
Please, post some of those converted vehicles -- its always nice
to have 'em online.

Here's the one vehicle that I've designed from the GURPS system so far, complete
with both SR and GURPS stats. Should you have RBB, you will likely notice a
strong similarity to the C-N Jackrabbit; this was not intentional. (That is
to say, it was designed as another cheap compact, but I didn't compare the
stats against each other until after the design was complete.)

Gentlemen, I present the Ford Companion! (No, names for production-model cars
ain't my strong suit...)

SR: Handling 4, Speed 30/90, Body 1, Armor 0, Sig 5, APilot 2. Seating: Twin
bucket front, single bench rear. Access: 2 standard. Economy: 9 km/KWH.
Power: 60 KWH. (Sorry, but I have no clue how PF relate to KWH...) Storage:
7 cubic feet (I believe that someone's earlier conversion (on Kage-Car) would
make this about 2.5 CF; RBB's 25 kg = 1 CF formula makes the cargo capacity
approximately 1 CF.) Price: 13,885 =Y=

Comparing against the Jackrabbit, we find the Companion has very similar
stats, the differences being better speed (30/90 vs. 25/75) and autopilot
(2 vs. 1), no rear hatch, less cargo space (1-2 CF vs. 4), worse handling
(4 vs. 3), and a greater operational range (540 km vs. 400) at a price
1,115 =Y= less than the Jackrabbit. (Were the Companion to add the
Jackrabbit's "aerodynamic styl[ing] and... improved suspension", the handling
would be similar to the Jackrabbit's and the Companion would be the more
costly car - apparently, the Jackrabbit is for those who want flashy (but
cheap) cars. :)

GURPS: TL 8 Light Body (120 cf, Standard materials, AF 150, HT 75), Powered
Wheels (4; HT 9 each with HT 4 tires), TL 8 Wheeled drivetrain (rated 12 KW),
60 KWH TL 8 rechargable power slug, seats: 2 normal and 2 cramped, 30 pts
Cheap armor (3/5 all locations), burglar alarm, radar detector (I assume that
these are relatively standard accessories by 2050), autopilot (note that in
GURPS Vehicles, "autopilot" means "cruise control"), midget computer
(HT 2,
Complexity 2) running Datalink and Routine Vehicle Operation programs, mini-
radar (5 mile range - required for RVO program), short-range radio (100 mile
range), 7.05 cf cargo space (rounded to 7 cf). Max Payload: 756.5 lbs, Max
Cargo 105 lbs, Top Speed: 78 mph (71 mph fully loaded), Acceleration: 4 mph/s,
Deceleration: 10 mph/s, MR 1, SR 3, Size Modifier +2, Radar Signature +2,
IR Signature +2, Acoustic Signature +1, $13,885.

Enjoy.

Whats the story on the rigger black book? Is it out of print? I've
looked all over for it. If anyone knows of an electronic documintation
that might takes it's place lemme know, or a store that sells it in the
Seattle Washington Area. Thanks.

I saw it in a Barnes and Nobles in Seattle, 6 months ago, it was
the hardcover too... I really should've snatched it up. You might try
calling Darkholder, they post on usenet a lot, and although I didn't see
the RBB at their store, they might have it in stock. They're in the
yellow pages. Course, you might as well wait until September(?) and get
the RBB2, which will be much more helpful... and compatible with sr2.

BTW, since you're in Seattle and I still don't have a group,
one that doesn't like ad&d better anyway, I would be most happy if
you could hook me up, how about it?;)

Ziggy, you're a day late....

THe RBB is out of print (to my knowledge) but the RBB2, long awaited, is due
in September.

The group thing sounds nova, but I mostly like to play over mush shells,
TT you tend to get distracted. Thanks for the help, I'll check it out

It's pretty much obsolete....well, not entirely, there are some
conversions in SRII.
Also according to FASAMike, the RBB II is slated for next September
(which you probably can't wait for..;).

The RBB is out of print (you may be able to find in a couple of small
stores here or there, I know I've seen it in a couple of places around
here yet), but the RBB2 is set to be released in September.
