Now this something that was never very clear. Is the vechile jack included
with the insatalltion of the VCR or does the rigger need a datajack ontop of
the VCR. The acrhetype has a datajack so that beeen a debate with my crew
for years now. Just a silly little question. I've always said that the do so
what the offical spin. I've got the RBB but I don't remember any
clairficartion so maybe I'll check again.

Is it in the "mysterious employer credo" that these little rendezvous always
have to be in exotic locales.

I mean just once wouldn't you like to sit down at a Denny's and plan
an assassination over a French Slam Breakfest?

We've always played that you need a datajack as well as teh VCR...

In fact, one of our riggers wore his a little odd... He had a bunch of
datajacks, with male connectors instead of female like the norm, and they
hung like dreadlocks...:)

Quite a few riggers who I've experienced in games do something weird with
datajacks, having them in the wrist is quite common.

IMHO the 'jack' by which you connect to a vehicle is included in the cost
of the VCR (it costs enough essence as is...). If you want to connect to more things
than just your VC deck, then you'd get another datajack.

I don't have access to the books right now, doesn't it say something like
a jack is included in the description of the VCR?

Were you out of Carp that night, or just feeling loony yourself?

Oh, I'm ALWAYS loony. :-)
And since it didn't make any functional game difference, and I got a laugh
out of it, I allowed it.

I don't think so, though a Chipjack does come free with skillwires (at
least the basic version.

I have never used riggers (will maybe have one soon, I just found out one
of the players has had the RBB for some time now and never said
anything), but I would assume that the VCR includes rigger jacks (it's
mentioned in the Plus Ca Change story that Iris, the elf rigger, had a
set of rigger jacks, implying more than one, on her temple), but that
they are different from and cannot be used in place of a datajack, though
a datajack could in certain circumstances (from what I've seen out on the
web) be used in place of a VCR, though without the spectacular advantages
normally acheived. So, I would assume that the rigger has a datajack for
the same reason many characters would have a datajack, to access
information.

Well, these not-advantages can be found in the CorpSec-Handbook, the
part dealing with equipment (as far as I remember at 2 o'clock in the
morning after some beer, but I think I'm right). I could look that up
anyway.

But I don't know if you can use rigger jacks just like datajacks, I think
that rigger protocols just can't be mapped to matrix ones. To make it
clear: datajack -> interface -> VCR works
VCR -> interface -> matrix is not possible AFAIK.
