It's Dice Pool Time:

First off Quiktek:

You are correct if using SRII without the RBB. If using the RBB than the
answer is NO to both parts of the question.

SSR:

I'm not ignoring the Skill Web, I just disagree with you on what a rigger is.
I don't believe that just because you had a VCR installed that all of a sudden
your an expert an every vehicle that was ever built. Plus you've got to
remember that even without the use of Control Pool in vehicles that the rigger
is not skilled in, he still gets the -2/per level target number modifier to
control test. Tell me that's not significant.

As for what a character with who is extremely proficient with driving a car is
going to be more than mildly discommoded in a hovercraft. You tell me why
someone who is extremely proficient in flying small piper airplanes would be
more than mildly discommoded in the pilot seat of a jumbojet.

Now on to the question of the nature of Dice Pools:

The COMBAT POOL is a prepresentaion of the attention the character is giving
to his or her offensive and defensive posture. (SRII Page 84)

The CONTROL POOL is (in RBB terms) essentially the COMBAT POOL of the combined
rigger and vehicle. In SRII terms, it reflects the close link between the
rigger and the vehicle.

The HACKING POOL is a combonation of skill and reaction speed that allows a
decker to modify or write programs on the fly. Note that the Computer skill is
rarely used directly in the Matrix and then almost always without the HACKING
POOL. (Don't bother pointing out exceptions, I know where they are.)

The MAGIC POOL is the skill part of using Sorcery.

The KARMA POOL is luck, fate, or experience; take your pick.

To the Reverend's Questions:

1) Can control be "wrested" from the rigger controlling the drone? If so, does
the drone become yours?

Assuming they are on the same channel and there is no data encrption being used.
And yes it would become yours, otherwise what's the point?

2) How hard is it to find the right coded signal to a drone?

Nearly impossible unless you had an idea of what channel it was on.

3) Can a drone be jammed?

I believe an ECM pod would do the job.

4) How do you run people and cars simultaneously?

Just the way you did, but make the rigger take at least a turn to turn the
damn car on.

I don't think there really is a _correct_ answer to the dice
pool question, merely how it is that _you_ envision ShadowRun and the
Runners. SOme people view them as people so talented that they are
almost unreal, while others view them as ordinary people tossed into
extra-ordinary circumstances, and trying to stay alive in the process.
Others fall in between. THe _Correct_ answer depents on who you think
the runners are supposed to be in your game.
