First before I get into the topic of Riggers - Can someone please
send me a copy of NAGA.

The further along I go the more and more I deal with the build up
of Rigger equipment. The group I run is a majority of Mages and
PhyAdepts, so of course the to keep their butt out of the fire
everyone in the group sets aside prob. 40% of their money for a
rigger fund. Granted I do a pretty good job of keeping the drone
population in the group down to a minimum (considering the rigger
nevers leaves his car).

But as you might expect since the rigger only buys more equip. and
drives drones, he is looking for more interesting ways of messing
with (my) Corp Riggers. The most recent idea is to attempt to
takeover another riggers drones (how to do it and what are the test)
and of course how to regain control of your drones.

TOPICS:
Remote Control - countermeasures - remote takeover (of someone
elses drones) -jamming - other...
More fun and interesting ways of destroying drones...
More fun and interesting was of getting the rigger out of his car
More mods for Riggers - i.e. protection from elementals manifesting
inside the car.
Other Rigger functions - i.e. - someone mentioned Rigger Security
Systems.
Other more interesting drones "you may have invented"

(p.s. since the rigger has money - he rarely complains - but a mage
can never get enough karma)
Thank
Gary C.

Not legally. And, if it were to be posted to the list, we'd lose
the sanction of FASA and possibly be forced to shut down.
I'll try to explain that better in the FAQ, since it truly does
seem to be a Frequently Annoying Question.

Wait a sec. I don't really understand all this legal hassle, but how would
they force us to stop talking about Shadowrun if we want to? Deny us the
usage of the term "Shadowrun" and others they've trade-fragging-marked? In
that way they could just as well prohibit people who play the game from
using those words...

Delicate matter here. Let's try not to force too much the border on the
copyright thing, or FASA could issue a T$R look-alike action againts FTP sites.

I know that we can ignore it blatantly, but it will transform our nice list
into an illegal activity.

In short: if they make (very little) requests, better to adhere to them. You
know the word "diplomacy" :)

Off-topic PS: I know how to say sunglasses and bracelet in Hollander (sp?) but
I don't know how to write them. Any clue? :)

Bye, Paolo

To take over somebody elses remote vehicles, I'd say you'd need to first set
yourself to the same frequency (I think, physics gurus correct me). This I
assume one could find by sampling (again, those in the know correct me).
Require the character who plans to steal the remote vehicle to have some
sort of sampler device (costs? anyone with knowledge?). You'd then likely
need to break the encryption/coding system used in the transmission. This
would require circutry similar to the Scrambler Breaker HD from SSC, but
would probably costs less as it wasn't cyber. As for how secure the remote
transmissions would be, I'm not too sure. Just how well protected can
something like this get, you cryptologists out there? I'd say give it a
rating from 1-10 to be cracked, depending on how professional (or paranoid)
the controlling rigger is. ECMs and ECCMs would do their normal trick,
add/subtract to/from TNs.

> More fun and interesting ways of destroying drones...

Have you tried Physical Barriers? Massive ECM jamming (which leads to loss
of control of remote vehicles, and crashing). Monowire "nets". EMP grenades.
Smoke (leads to difficulties in manouvering, ie the rigger can't see what
the hells in front of the remote vehicle, which leads to Handling tests,
which can lead to crashing). Real nets (kinda troublesome for a drone). An
"Anti-Drone Barrier" magic spell (just a joke guys).

> More fun and interesting was of getting the rigger out of his car

Mist Lynx's. Traffic jams combined with bad LOS (which gives mods to remote
control). Car bomb threats. Someone tracing back his remote signal (there's
a name for that, um, um, can't remember). Vandals (what's he do when someone
decides to rip his aireal off?).

> More mods for Riggers - i.e. protection from elementals manifesting

Put a ward on your car. Or spell lock a Mana Barrier. Or assign elementals
to defend the vehicle from astral intrusion.

> Other Rigger functions - i.e. - someone mentioned Rigger Security

Yeah. Imagine a building which is rigged. The rigger jacks in, and the
elevators become his veins, the security cameras his eyes, the gun platforms
his weapons, the gas release systems his breath, and so no. Much more
efficient than a similar matrix setup. No intruding decker problems for a
start. More fun for PC riggers to come into the building and take over too
(good method to get them out of their armoured trucks).

> Other more interesting drones "you may have invented"

There's a couple on Paolos WWW page I think.

T$R did it, and I heard rumours that adnd-l was shut down for a
few weeks while the listowner talked to T$R's lawyers. Now, I'm not
saying that FASA's quite that bad, but the precedent is there. And if we
were to do something as blatantly in violation of copyright as posting
entire unpublished books they might change their minds.

Contact FASA, and see if they're still distributing playtest
copies. From what we've heard, they aren't, but it probably wouldn't
hurt to check.
Or, wait for it to be published, some time later this year.

I think that here they are discussing the NAGA in particular, since
it comes from the AOL playtest area. Thus it is supposed to be a perk
of AOL membership to have access to it.

I would like to see all the different companies who have been suckered into
AOL - or prodigy or whatnot - arrangements wise up and get web sites with
friendly, local internet providers.

BTW, I really reccommend that people take a *thourough* look at-]
