For those that don't know, showtune composer Henry Mancini passed away a few
days ago from complications due to pancreatic cancer. He will be
missed.

Thanks, I've no idea who the guy is (call me ignorant), but i appreciate
hearing news. Ive only watched about 4 hours of TV since I moved into
college at the end of Feb, so WW3 could be occuring and i wouldnt know.

Possibly one of his most well-known tunes, Mancini (no relation to da
Minotaur as far as I know) wrote the score to the Pink Panther.

Distant Relative...

But it fits, my mother, and all her siblings, have died from
cancer or complications from a cancer related illness.

Henry Mancini is the composer who brought us such delights as Moon River
(from Breakfast at Tiffany's), the Pink Panther theme song, and the Peter
Gunn theme. Good stuff.
