Orville Reddenbacher, the pleasantly nerdy man behind the world's
most popular single brand of popcorn, died yesterday -- I didn't catch his
age, but he I think he was in his eighties.
He's leaving his share of the company to his grandson.

Mr. Reddenbacher was 88 when he passed on. I must admit, he
contributed alot to our gaming sessions. :) A box of microwave
popcorn, and two six-packs of Jolt cola. Mmmmmmm. :)

Orville was 88. he died of a heart attack (actually, he drowned in
his hot tub).

my father is from Valparaiso, and Orville Redenbacher was well liked
up that way both as a employer and as a philanthropist. he will be
missed.

Who, no doubt, will become corrupted by power and begin laying the
groundwork for an international popcorn takeover. Once he's achieved
total control of the world's popping corn, he'll expand laterally into
candy bars, Raisinets, and all other areas of the theatre food industry.
Prices for movie snacks will go up even higher. Eventually the company
will merge to become Yokohama-Redenbacher, and with new financial backing,
domination in ALL areas of snack food will become global.

Until 2055, that is, when a Seattle team of shadowrunners is hired to
penetrate their facility and retrieve the secret behind that butter-flavored
grease...

Blessings,

_TNX._

You know, I think I'd just /have/ to buy some type of industrial
heating laster for that run. Set it on low power...heat up some of the
storage vats...watch everything explode....

That's all very interesting, but why are you telling us this?

Because its some sort of List-tradition to post RIPs. JD and the FL
have posted RIPs about Asimov Leiber and many other authors as wells as
people that have in one way or the other influenced gaming.

Exactly. I know that Reddenbacher's death isn't likely to affect
the Shadowrun worldview very much (except for that great adventure idea
that somebody posted last week), but his company certainly has an impact
on popcorn-munching gamers everywhere. *grin*
I admit, though, that it was just barely on topic. Let's follow
the guidelines in the FAQ and let it die out (no pun intended.)
