If you think gun control laws are a major eroder of your freedom,
or that `Not having firearms makes you slaves to your government',
then I'd recommend trying to borrow a copy of Noam Chomsky's video
called `Manufacturing Consent'. This describes how modern
`democracies' are actually controlled.

And if you're so sure that gun control is right, you should take
a look at some statistics on murders in the US and overseas. In
my opinion, you're all raised to believe that the right to bear
arms will give you all freedom, to stop you thinking about the real
threats.

But I'm afraid the world is a bit more complex than that, these
days. Politicians, corporations, and disproportionately vocal
lobby groups. Bribery, corruption, ...

It comes down to this: a gun will `control' a handful of people,
for as long as you can stay awake. Real control is gained by
hiding the truth; by manufacturing consent.

Honestly? I am anti-gun control with good reason.

A large part of the world depends on guns. The army, and criminals.
To defend against both of these, you need the same things they're going to
attack with...guns.

Gun control just keeps guns away from the non-army, non-criminal, peo-
ple. This does no good, obviously...the public has now become an easier target.

Not having guns makes it that much easier for the government to take
over, and MAKE us slaves. It also makes it easier for criminals to pray upon
us.

Know what? I don't own a gun...I don't plan on ever buying one. I am
morally opposed to the thought of killing anyone. But I understand that guns
are IMPORTANT, and that gun control is worthless.

Sorry, Fearless Leader, I know I broke the rule. I couldn't help it...
I hate having my beliefs bashed, and I can certainly fight back (verbally). So,
I felt compelled to respond. I'll attempt to not do any MORE responding, unless
someone wants to take it up in private E-Mail...
