Subject: | Road blocks and how to get rid of them (rules) |
Date: | Mon, 6 Feb 1995 18:12:10 +0100 |
We were playing this Fasas module (One stage Before , Boy ,it sucks.)
when I had the ploice put this road block up
The ones seen in movies, get a few cars put them together and block he road.
So our rigger decided to ram the shit out of the roadblock and get on with
it.
I Handled it pretty wel at that point. But I wonder what the official
rules for ramming barriers are.
Rules say Only your speed is relevant when your smashing thruogh
barriers.
This ofcourse is complete nonsense.
You don't have to drive so hard to take down a wall with a MacTruck.
Seems to me that the rules for smashing through barriers should look mre
like the ram test for cars.
But those rules don't mind about the speed of the incoming vehicle.
What's the barrier rating of a stationary car on a road.
It's body ? Too less, a strong man would be able to push away even the
most heavy cars.
And speed is a little underestimated by FASA.
If you get hit by a car going 60 (taht's 72 KMPH), the maximum of damage
you're eligeble for is moderate. It's teh eqiivalent of a 6M attack.
That's peunuts, and totally unrealistic. Getting hit by a car going 72
can easily, if not for sure ,kill you.
And hitting a tree while going 72 will ruin your average car, not just
moderatly damage it.
Damage should be at least (speed/10)D.
I think the barrier Rating of a stationary car should something like
2x(body=Half the vehicle armor)
This also counts for people hiding behind armored vehicles.
So how about this for the new ramming through barriers rule.
Make a test using (body+half vehicle armor + driver's
skill-handling+(speed/10))
dice against a target number equal to the barrier rating.
One succes is enough to break the barrier.
No succes means crash test.
Whatever happens throw damage for car as usual with the speed/10 as the
powr of attack and with a damge level of deadly.
Thwap me ,if I deserve it.
