Role Playing Games (Knowledge Skill):
Linked Attribute: Intelligence (Hmmm... ok, that explains the munchies)
Specializations: Specific Game, Specific Style (online, CD/Optical
Chip, Books, Live Action, etc.)
Description: This skill represents that character's knowledge of
various role-playing games and their style. These sorts of characters
tend to categorize the world in terms of their favorite role-playing game.
Use of this skill can also represent the character's ability to play out a
specific role that is not their own. It also tends to make the character
believe they know more than they do (Character quote: "I had a character
once that defused a nuke, I think I remember how he did it"). In
addition, characters with this skill tend to spend great deals of money to
complete their "collection", only to sell it all, when money becomes
scarce, for a fraction of it's value. Another trademark for a character
with this skill is their tendency of possessing contacts not normally
associated with their type (for instance, a Corporate Wage Mage and a
Sprawl Ganger meet every second Thursday of the month to play '20th
Century College Students' and purchase each other as contacts,
representing one's willingness to buy the snacks and the other's
investment in the gaming materials).
Note: Characters with the role-playing skill tend to be slightly
unbalancing as this skill can be used towards a wide variety of
non-active-type skills, but the number of successes is reduced by the
number of 1's rolled, possibly creating a negative 'supplimentary' success
roll.
Subnote: I didn't say this was unbalancing in the character's favor.

Now tell me, what was your problem?
