I can be a bonehead, and miss a point (as I did with Gurth). And so can
someone else.

That doesn't give someone to be rude towards each other over it. When
Robert H. ran this list, such language would get you dropped from the list
automatically. (Yes, you could re-subscribe.)

My point?

Blood, but some people have no sense of humor. Or is it a lack of
patience?

Remember, ignorance is not rudeness, nor is a lack of perception.

I don't believe that ever stopped him from using it himself...

If you mean me, as in my being rude... I've been stupid at times as
well. But I've never sunk to the depths of using vulgarity or degrading
curses at someone.

And I never recall Robert ever cursing towards someone in an abusive
fashion.

Regardless, my original point stands. No, it may change nothing. But to
stand by and say nothing is tacit approval. I think most can agree that I
don't stand by and say nothing, unless I've nothing to say.

I was referring to Rob, not to you :)

I distinctly recall, for example, somebody posting a binary file to the
list (a color scan of the SR logo), and Rob's reaction to it as well...

Ah. Well then.

I'd have cursed a blue streak as well. Was that one of the times the
list died horribly? (Memory... 1989... <disk i/o error><(L)augh (C)ry
(D)rink yourself blind?>

But he never got that way, nor tolerated it, due to a less-than
intelligent vein of conversation or question.

In fact I seem to remember him being against the bashing of such things.

Wow. I'm *on campus* and reading e-mail. usually it's just "go to
class, back to work, home, sleep, work, to class.... " etc.

*sigh* Is it Christmas yet?

Was ShadowRN around in 1989? I thought it only got started up around 91 or
92, anyway a couple of years before I'd even heard of the game... I joined
in January 1994, and this was a couple of months later.

Not yet. First comes Sinterklaas, _then_ Christmas... :)

I think Gruth was asking about when the list ShadowRN
started, not when the game Shadowrun came out.

Yeah, it seems to be. We old-timers are allowed to talk about how good it

Sure, if you don't mind letting your age show...

Anyone have an idea where the ShadowRN FAQ can be found?
Just watch, I'll actually find it this time after I send this...

That's simple enough: all you have to do is what Baldrick did in

You mean, write your name on an APDS bullet, and keep it on a chain around
your neck.....
Yup, that'd work.... Apart from the fact that you might be holding the
bullet of someone else called Gurth....

Damn. You're going to have to remind me of this one Gurth. All I can

It went something like this:
Blackadder says to Baldrick: "What are you doing, Baldrick?"
"I'm carving my name into this bullet, sir!"
"Why?"
"They say there's a bullet with your name on it, sir, so I thought that if
I had that bullet, I can't get shot with it!"
