Yonderboy brings up an interesting point.
There are several rule-(breaking, bending, eliminating, etc--fill in
your favorite adjective) characters in the long nning campaign I am in.
For example, there is Myself, Rascal, who started out on the street, and worked
himself up to a good set of stats for a shaman. Then with a twist of reality
,
He

Tess entered the world between all worlds, talked to this really cool Elemental
Dragon (as I percieved it, Tess thought it was some sort of bird. However, I
had managed to enter the world astrally, while tess had crossed the boundry
line
physically and was stuck. so, with a deft twist of rules and reality, I gave
Tess my bod, while I traded places with a troll who we had finally killed.

And Voila! Our priority for attributes was now 4, please design a new body.

Our next break was not as much a break as a lot of fun. This vampire, from
the rules in Challenge (I think) joined up with us so she could drink elven
blood. Of course, she falls in love with the nearest elf in the party....

And then tere was Thrash. Thrash is the primary reason why the sign
" The Black Oak Tavern
'Where Spirits, Vampires and Dragons
Drink Free' "

includes Dragon
in the caption.

Yes, She has an "Uncle Dunky," and yes, with a charisma of 12 she is rather
stunning....And no, she hasn't unbalanced the roleplaying, since the GM
has prooven time and again that truly amazing firepower solves many problems.

Although the time with the Night Rune Initiate group (of 6 high inititate, and
30 or so trainee was a bit extravagent....

Anyway, in other rules breaking ground, Tess just had her twin babies,
a boy and a girl, and both are doing well, even though they were delivered
into the middle of a really nasty battle....sigh.

Hoi.

My first PC was Ruby (from the ZBS Radio Production (any glimmers
of recognition???)). At that time, none of us had a bloody clue (and the
rules didn't specify (or if they did, we didn't see...)) how to generate
non-archtypical characters. We approached the character generation this
way:

As long as you spend 10 points in priorities, everything will be ok.

The result was 4 for attrib, 4 for skills and 2 for tech. Because
of a lack of money, Ruby never really invested much in cyber in the beginning,
but now sports boosted reflexes 3, smartgun link, cyber eyes, radio implant,
etcetera. Now that she's retired as a PC and is now a contact at Renraku
for several of our PC's, she's a pretty vicious little gunslinger, when
she wants to be.

Thanks to whoever posted the Challenge Mag rules on vampire-PC's.

Ratty out.
