Could you see the dripping doubt when I asked to be contradicted?

On the one hand, if someone did (does) find such a rule, then I'm made
more frightening to my players.
You should see the look on their faces when they start to look at me
with that "was that legal?" look, and I give them two or three page
numbers in various books to read. I try not to use the "Because I'm GM,
dammit!" attitude on them. As well, we will start trading the GM hat
around periodically.
So we try to stick to the 'official' rules, and a rare few mods that we
all agree on. Else it'd be stupid to take characters from one setting to
another.

So when someone asks "How do I get rid of Stun?" and I tell them "SRII,
page 115", or when someone asks "How much can I carry?" and I tell them
"5xStr - SRII page 185 under "Hauling the Load".

Well it keeps the game moving more quickly than my having to stop, and
alleviates the need for me to pull a heavy-handed move with the "I'm the
GM" rule.

I find that preferable. Besides, anyone who's played with me long enough
slows down the questioning after only a few games. :)
They don't *stop*, as that'd mean I could take advantage of them - yes,
I've done that to keep them thinking.

"What do you mean that Negotiation is a resisted test that can be staged
down?" - <evil grin>
