So I just bought Cybertechnology today although I know it will be obsolete
in a few months when Man & Machine arrives. Am I an addict now?

NO NO NO you are NOT an addict.
If you had bought cybertechnology after M&M came out, then maybe...
if you had bought it by auction a year after M&M came out and paid triple
price for it, then yes, you would be an addict.

Right now, you're just a "die-hard fan" (not to be confused with a DieHard
fan, though why anyone would like car batteries..., oh forget it)

Maybe you just bought a valuable collectible.
Since I didn't read the list for three months can anybody tell me:
Will M&M have
-cybermancy rules and shadow talk about it?
-Hatchetmans story?

If not, you made a good deal. It's not only the rules and tables. Its the
setting the atmosphere. Hope M&M will have it.

On the topic of addiction to our favorite roleplaying game, I have only one thing to
add, and then a question.

I spent $165 on a tattoo of the Shadowrun 'S' on my right leg.

Does that make me an addict?

For you old timers... Rookie, one of Loki's group, has a sweet red SR "S"
on his arm. <grin> He said he was gonna have to get a blue one (like on
the SR3 HB) on his other arm after seeing SR3 :]

No, I'd say you're an addict if you do things like buy Prime Runners at
full price in '99 or a first-edition Grimoire in 1997 (though it was
second-hand and at reduced cost. Uhhh... _what_ did I just admit about
myself...? :)

Something we will tease you about. Mercilessly. :')
Actually, I think Plastic Warriors proves your addiction better then
any purchase, Gurth. ;')

Oh yeah, well I went out and bought a copy of the 1st Edition Hardcover
after I already had the 1st Edition Softcover the 2nd Edition Hardcover and
the third Edition Softcover. No if I can only find the 3rd Edition HC for
under $100 I would buy it.

What's really scary is the options you find yourself considering. One
night I was telling a friend of mine about how we had only one competetor
in town. He said that for a small fee of $5k he'd go firebomb their
building. What's funny is how long I thought about it before saying no.
But let me tell you, it's entirely cost effective. I'd make that $5k back
in the following week.

Heh. It's funny the stuff you find yourself thinking sometimes, isn't it?
The only problem is that if you stand that much to gain from it, any cop
worth his badge will think of you first when investigating. I've been in
the same situation, though. Where suddenly you snap back to reality and have
to remind yourself to say no.

As long as you said "no" because of moral issues, and not because you
thought that your friend might fail and get caught, this is ok I think :)
