Since I suspect the real answer to the 'what's a nuyen really worth'
question is 'a variable amount depending on how FASA needed to balance the
game', and that the costs are a little wierd since they were made up with
shadowrunners (who make more money than normal folks, if they live long
enough) in mind, let me pose an alternate question that'll serve the same
purpose. What would you guess are the yearly salaries of professionals
in 2060? Lawyers, doctors, engineers, corporate programmers, middle
management suits? What about the janitor, the secretary, the motor pool
mechanic, and the greenhorn security guard at the front door? Feel
free to throw in whatever other jobs you'd like.

I remember reading somewhere in a SR product that entry level
wagemages regularly earn Y125,000 per year. This is just the
salary component of their package. They have their magic license
paid for which is Y25,000, they usually get a car of some sort and
subsidised housing as well as tuition fees for further education.

I'll be stuffed if I can recall from what book this was from though.
