Does anyone know where one might find good satellite images of the earth?

In specific, I am looking for some good aerial/satellite photos of islands in
the Pacific.

It's for an adventure I am developing, and I would like the Johnson to have
visual aides...

Thank you for your time and attention.

Not for free.... Most of those images were taken by private companies for
whatever reason and in general are not put out in the public domain. However,
you might check the NASA website, they might have something about views of the
earth from space.....

I'd imagine the Terra Server should have some in the Japan area..
Unfortionatly, their South Pacific coverage is non existant.. Try

http://terraserver.microsoft.com/

Here is one that's kinda Blurry:

http://terraserver.microsoft.com/GetTilesByXY.asp?XId818&YId979&TileX=2&TileY=1&SrcId=2&ImgDate/25/1991&ImgSize=0&DSize=1

Here is one that's decent if you want some Run looking buildings, with
a slic of a larger land mass.. (Looks very nice for a run IMHO..)

http://terraserver.microsoft.com/GetPageByXY.asp?XId862&YId800&SrcId=2&ImgDate/22/1987&ImgSize=2&DSize=1

Bear in mind, you will need a Java enabled browser..
