Sorry to bring this back to the list once more, BUT: thought everyone should
know, Scott's site is STILL up, on a PUBLIC server, under the URL:

http://home.talkcity.com/GaiaWay/lordmountainlion/prime.html

This time I am not playing softball. Randall from FASA has already recieved
and acknowledged my "heads-up" I sent, in case noone from FASA happened to
read the list for a bit.

Well, looks like it WAS a necessary heads up. Artwork is still on the site
without proper credit. The apperance of a download area with sections named
VERY much like various sourcebooks makes me suspicious of the long term
intent.

Scott, you will shortly be recieving a civilly worded but LESS than friendly
email from me. Per GridSec's request, I'm taking the flames to private email.
However, I AM lighting up the flamethrower. You LIED, the site got a name
change not a tear-down.

GRRRRR.

|GRRRRR.

He probably doesn't know enough about the internet to know the difference.
He probably thought that web browsers would only be able to access the file
if it was called index.html....

(Sad, but true, there are some REAL eeejits out there).

as it will kill the pages....if Im in error please let me know

Scott,

(Sorry, I'd send this personally but I neglected to write down your address.)

It's great that you took the page down, but the copywritten graphics (.gifs
and .jpgs) should be removed too. Even though there isn't a home page the
graphics can still be accessed (it's not easy but it can be done).

I know this is a pain in the ass, but trust me it's for the better.

After everything is cleared out then you can take the time to sit down and
rework your page, get permissions, and get everything squared away.

Good luck :)

Ok the webpage is down as fully as I know how to do it.....all the html
files have been removed and anything that I didnt have permission to use
(that I know of) has been removed.

To bring a close to this, I would offer by way of explination my intent and
purpose for my actions last night and today.

Two weeks ago I was talking with a friend on irc. She works for Talk City.
She found out that I had a serious desire and a passion for shadowrun. She
had told me that a project for Talk City to run a shadowrun game there had
been started some time ago but never really gotten off the ground. Having a
great deal of experiance with Shadowrun, IRC and the like I offered to run
it and get it up and going. As any who go to the Talk City game pages will
see they are running TSR games, Aternity, White Wolfs Vampire and Mystic
Shadows Inn. Its rather popular.

The idea was to have the Talk City IRC Shadowrun Game up and runnign for the
internet conferance in May of this year. My first task was to compose a web
page explaining the world of shadowrun, irc and how the two will merg and be
played on Talk City. I would have to check but with a slight few
exceptions, an email was sent to any name I could get a hold of off the web
pages I borrowed the graphics or files from. But I had a deadline and thus
I threw the page together and was waiting for those emails to return. In
the event that permission had been declined the offending immages would
have been removed prior to the page beeing publicaly advertiesd.

I have learned many lessons from this and I thank you all.

Again a heartfelt apology for those whom I offended

Thus ends this I pray

Whoa there, slugger! Slow down. Now you're so flustered you're
misspelling your own *name*.
Relax. Take a deep breath. People really aren't out for your
blood regardless of what you may think. Please calm down and proof your
posts. It'll avoid silly mistakes and make your points clearer.

well...)

In fact, you never know, some of us might be willing to help put it together.
I've done so int he past; I'm looking into doing so for a side-career thing.
I might, in the early stages of learning HTML better, be willing to do so in
return for nothing more than a small graphic on the page. :-) Can't hurt to
ask, when you have all the T's crossed and I's dotted.

it gets up or assist in any other way please email me privately at

I'm not taking it personal in the sense of, personally offended. My sense of
_ethics_ has been. Copyright infringement is something I feel strongly about
(I am working on trying to get INTO writing, so ... :-).

However, it's an on-again, off-again thing so far. Scott did pull the site
down again, after I pointed that out. I am sure FASA will be clarifying what
can and cannot be done, copying-wise; so far, Scott seems to be taking this as
a lesson to be learned and remembered, which means good things (who knows,
maybe there will be another major shadowrun site for us all to visit, improved
and refined by the mess here, eh? :-) for everyone involved.

Sean(GM PAX) is very "passionatte" about his arguments, trust me :-)

He will argue, but he also does concede when he is wrong, so it is not too
bad.

Heck between this thread and hte slivergun, looks like the list is back to
150+ messages a day. :-) Kinda missed having to spend an hour just to skim
through to see what to read :-)
