To be back from the frenzy going on about the end of
FASA, I took my pill (the red one) and I'm back for
more questions.

So what is the weather like in Seattle, I've read in a
novel that it was most of the time raining and that
you could count the good sunny day in a month with one
hand.
Plus, I'd like to know how is winter also. Is it cold,
humid lot of snow or not at all...

Tanx

"Mild" is the best way to describe it... no matter what time of the year.

You will see some snow every winter, but its usually not much... and in
general it will only last for a couple of days... During the winter months,
you will usually see 1 week of sun and then 2 weeks of overcast conditions.
It won't rain all the time, but when it does, you usually get it for a week
straight.

Going into the spring, you start seeing more rainfall... as with winter, you
usually get 1 week of sun, followed by 2 weeks of overcast... and again, as
per winter when it rains it'll usually go for a 5-7 day stretch of
rain/drizzle. When it is sunny though, the weather is usually pretty
good... good chance to see people out in shorts and a t-shirt on a good
sunny day in february.

Heading into summer, the weather starts to pick up... you start getting
weather patterns that might be 1 week of clear skies, 1 week of cloudy, 1
week of mostly cloudy and then 1 week of overcast. This pretty much runs on
like that until early May. The weather starts to get warmer and rain is
less frequent. Won't be too windy most of the time, except down by the
shoreline.

In summer itself, its usually pretty good weather... the temperature will
start about 58°
(15°C) in the morning and pick up to 75-78° (23-25°C) during the hottest
part of the day. Temperatures can go above this, but not often. Since its
close proximity to the shoreline there is a constant light breeze that makes
it more bearable.
As for weather patterns... usually you'll see a good 2-3œ weeks of sun
before you'll get interupted by a day or two of rain. This usually lasts
until mid september.

In the fall, you'll often see people still wearing shorts and light shirts
until mid october... though it has in the past, its very rare that you'll
get snow before halloween (and if you do, again its usually the kind that
will last 1 or 2 days). Around mid october the weather starts to slide into
the heavier precipitation... where you will more often have a cloudy and
rainy day than you will have a sunny one. This will continue until mid
november, when the weather generally lightens up and the temperatures start
to drop.

So... hope that might help abit.

Well, today is it fairly cold, and sunny. Yesterday it was raining.
Snow? Maybe a bit every winter, but it's to warm for that typically.

Of course, that's the weather today. IIRC, several of the books (game
books.. I have yet to touch a Shadowrun novel) flat-out state that the
weather is now really weird, as a result of the Awakening, several volcanoes
going off, and the terraforming that the Tir is doing.

I've been told that is like the southern part of England, if that helps you.

According to www.weather.com It is supposed to rain this whole next weak in
Seattle. Average temperature during the day is in the 40'sF at night your
looking at being in the mid 30'sF. If you have ever been to San Francisco it
is just a little colder and a little more rain.

What with the Great Ghost Dance, the Awakning et al worldwide weather
conditions tend to be quite freaky (my Seattle is currently buried under
three feet of snow). Take a look on pgs 14-16 of New Seattle.

Phil

Since most of my face never gets a chance to heal, I've got nothing to lose
in the looks department. My boss, at work, he asked me what I was doing
about the hole through my cheek that never heals. When I drink coffee, I
told him, I put two fingers over the hole so it won't leak.

I don't know much about the day-to-day weather in Seattle, as I've only ever
been there once, for less that 24 hours, and it was about 30 degrees --
Celsius, that is -- and sunny at the time. However, about five years ago
someone asked a similar question and one of the replies was a random
weather chart which Stephen Eley (another one who's disappeared...) which I
incorporated into the Plastic Warriors net.book Paranoid Animals of North
America. You can get this from http://plastic.dumpshock.com/shadowrun in
RTF format.
