I'm doing something at UT called the Business Foundations Program,
intended to let non-business people (like us freaky chem majors) take a
whole slew of classes in different fields to get a good grasp on how to
set up and run a business, everything from microeconomics to management to
accounting, etc. A lot of it _is_ pretty common-sense, some of it less
so. It is a somewhat specialized knowledge set, but I think anyone who
has a minimal brain-wave and isn't a compleate asshole could be a
successful business man (believe it or not, you do have to have pretty
good people skills in bussiness or your workers will hate you and your
customer base will consist of people who don't know better. cf. Braniff
Airlines) or woman, they'd just have to find the information somewhere.
