It's obvious that PhysAds can get vision magnification and
olfactory booster equivalent powers, but at what level?

Also, if a critter has reduced senses, what does that mean in game
terms? I couldn't find any penalties listed...

Off hand I would say take a gander at the perception modifiers table (full
darkness, fog, smoke, etc), and make a judgement as to how the critters
senses compare. Is it completely blind, partially blind, a little off,
etc. Then assign an appropriate modifier when it's making a perception
test based on that sense.

Hmmm...A quick thought off the top of my head [ which will probably turn
to drek on me :-) ] is that you could increase or reduce the number of
Perception dice the character or critter gets. This has a direct effect on
the number of successes the [insert specific being] gets.

Is that worth two cents?

Eevry time you buy the power, you add a level -- getting vision mag level
3 requires .75 Magic Points, for example.

I don't think there are any. Critters have two Intelligence ratings, one
for general problem solving, and the other (the highest) for their best
sense. Maybe halve its number of dice (either the lowest or the highest
number, as you see fit) for the reduced senses?

Actually, that is exactly the way it works. It is stated
*somewhere* (though I don't recall where off the top of my head, maybe
the basic rulebook, maybe PAoNA) that "Enhanced Sense" gives the
creature/person up to half again as many Perception dice when making
perception tests using that sense. Similarly, "Reduced Senses" gives a
creature only half as many perception dice when using that sense.

first question on the list in regards to dual-natured beings and physical
senses (thermo, lowlight, blind, reduce sight, etc). Isn't it? :o)

'Course if they're dual-planer (like a blind ghoul) the visibility modifer
doesn't really apply unless say they were to try to rad a news fax or
identify the color of the car in a drive-by...
