OK, does anyone have any information on this new magazine? I looked for it
all weekend but nobody knew anything. That doesn't really surprise me, since
I guess it isn't even out yet(??).

If anyone has an actual copy, could you post the subscription information
to the list?

Thanks!

Okay, I write for it. The word I have is this: It's at the printer's. It'll
be out realsoonnow, meaning as soon as it gets back from the printer's and
goes out to the distributors. I usually get my copy before the local game
store gets their stuff, so when I get mine I'll post about it. This is
issue #1 we're waiting for, BTW.

Send email to swrdknght@***.com and ask for specifics. I don't know the
price for a subscription. Kevin at Sword of the Knight will tell you all
about how much to mail, where to send it, and who to make the check out to.

Hiya.

Has anyone here gotten any Shadowland Magazines since Issue #6? I haven't
heard a word since I got that issue.

Anyone know if they are still being produced?

Thanks,

Justin :)

I'd assume so- I'm supposed to have an article in #8! My submission
deadline is Dec. 18, so I'd assume they've put #7 to bed. Does seem a
little late, but thats typical of gaming quarterlies.

I was in contact with SOK and I was told that #7 is still in the works and
they aren't sure yet when it will be released.

I emailed them and they said they are still running, but with a new
editor that is still checking everything out...thus #6 is still the
last one released.

Thanks for all the helpful information, all. :)

I am happy to know they are still in business (great product!). I hope to
get the next issue sometime soon. :)

Thanks again. :)

Then hopefully the editing will get better. I like Shadowland, but the
editing is worse than what can be "admired" on many web pages...

store that is long closed, but I haven't heard/seen anything about it
since. Knigh of the Sword pack up and ship out or what?

Yup. They did so on better terms than AWOL, the ones that had been
doing KaGe did, but they still stopped. They switched to a new editor
between issue 6 and 7, took about a six month break, released issue 7,
and a few months later announced they were backing out and either
refunded checks or offered equivilant merchandise (I got Queen
Euphoria and DNA/DOA myself, either of which is more fulfilling than
the rag was, sadly enough).

So they went Kaputz. Fortunately there is still The Shadowrun
Supplemental, which is probably the longest running Shadowrun mag (its
almost at double digits!) [Actually KaGe did about 12 issues, I think.
Anyone care to clarify for me? I only have about 8 of them..] not to
mention the witty product reviews, great quality of the articles,
intelligent product reviews, thought provoking adventures, and the
insightful product reviews.

It was 12 issues, if you include issue #0 and the second "volume 1 issue
2" that came after "volume 1 issue 10." I suspect nobody at Ka*Ge could
count beyond 10 or something :)

Oooooh! I wonder why you said that... :)

SOK stopped publishing Shadowland, and I believe their other gaming
magazines (for Earthdawn and Traveller) as well. Issue #7 was the last one
to come out, in October 1997, and with a new editor (Chris Hussey) who
seemed to want to get the magazine back on track. A few months later, SOK
pulled the plug on it. I'm not too bothered by it; Shadowland never did
stand out IMO.
