Cheers. A friend was moaning about Mikes handling of Shadowrun so I figure
I'll just show him the Target: Space piece so that should change his mind.
When I first read it I figured that it was taking the piss. Still not a 100%
sure of it. ;)

Heh :) Actually, it'll be real soon enough. Yep, I wrote up the whole
book and sent her off to FanPro about four months ago... should be seeing
it in print by February or so. Oh, the money'll be ROLLIN' in...

Haven't heard anything back yet, of course, but I put that down to the
whole "restarting SR" thing. Yep, I'm just waitin' by the phone...

Just waitin'...

Yep. ROLLIN' in.

You know, I don't have to take this sort of abuse. I could just go home.

And I bear absolutely no resemblance to Dr. Claw (well, judging from
could be seen of him, anyway).

Mmmm... Warped Tour in Indy...

To turn this into something of an on-topic topic, I hope you'll excuse
the non-sequitur, but:

Aside from Maria Mercurial and Concrete Dreams, are there any big names
in the music business that canon material has mentioned? Any information
regarding current prevailing styles in popular music?

One stage before has the runners trailing a music group that's extremely
popular (and their vampire ex-band mate).
And in the first edition Seattle Sourcebook, there's the Comfortably Numb (a
Pink Floyd cover group).

That's all that comes to mind right now.

I remember one of my friends, who got me into Shadowrun, talking about some
troll thrasher band . . . Darwin's Bastards perhaps? Though this may be
non-cannon.

the One Stage Before scenario is based around a band called the Shadows, who
used to work with the late, great Jetblack, elven rock legend of the late
2040s

the Total Eclipse scenario is about an up and coming band, the Elementals,
who are about to release their 1st album, but I don't know how big the band
becomes...

Dunkelzahn's Legacy mentions a large grant to a band named Shieldwall, "to
help them complete their rock opera"

A couple of the novels have mentioned a troll thrash band called Darwin's
Bastards

Shadowbeat mentiones the following, in addition to Maria Mercurial (p6/7) and
Concrete Dreams with Warren Cartwright, Andrea Frost, Moira Thornton and
Francois Nyanze (p7): Zazz with Zir Zemo (p8), Starfire with Hairy Krishna
(p16), Darwin's Bastards with "Gristlehide" Brannigan (p17), Eight Imortals with
Tony Li (p17), Til Es Hault with Sandra Willowfall (p17), Thunderdance with
Harvey Voice of Rivers (p17), Enoch Ian Keys (p17), Trollgate (p17), Darkvine
(in the KA-POW! KA-POW! secition), Shield Wall with Sheena M, Jay K and Doris
(in the KA-POW! KA-POW! section), Teddy X (in the KA-POW! KA-POW! section), The
Newrons with Billy Synapse (p93).

Dark Angel stars in the adventure of the same name, and published a record
called Earth Dawn (another reference to ED!).

The adventure "One Stage Before" stars The Shadows with Jetblack, Marli
Bremerton, Joey Nightmare, Sid Id and Ernest Hawkins.

The adventure "Total Eclipse" stars The Emelemtals with Whispering Wind,
Wildfire, Bambi and Coyote.

Mercurial stars in the adventure of the same name.

And then there is Euphoria in the adventure "Queen Euphoria", although she is a
sim-star, not a rock-star.

> Any information regarding current prevailing styles in popular music?

Shield Wall was going to make an opera based on a "fusion Menotti/Celtic Metal
sound, built around some Algonkian mtyh cycles"
There are also elvenrock.
Eight Imortals play neo-Maoist raga-metal sound.
Til Es Hault is NeoCeltic

But even the back cover is for the GM! At least my players don't even look at
the adventures until they have been on the run, or have to GM the adventure
themselves.

And in any case it dosn't say a word about Jetblack on the cover of "One Stage
Before", so you shouting it out to everybody has spoiled it! Maybe you should
check before making statements like this.

Well then mayby you should think before posting, since you can't check.

Noted. From now on I will only comment on things I can verify (Basicly main
rules, OTs, and side bits). Besides, I never mentioned the big supprise
that happens during the adventure, just that the players have to track a
popular musical group.

But you also mentioned that Jetblack was turned into a vampire! Which is a major
plot in the adventure!

Lars

check your stats, Lars. It wasn't me. I only said that the adventure
involved the runners tailing a musical group. It was some other guy that
