Hey! hey! I've found something common between SHADOWRN and Earthdawn.
In 'the thief adept', the boy ( J'role ) climb a pit for escaping his
jail ( where he was put by the elven queen ). When he reach the border,
a root came to life and hit him on the head. Do you know what sound it
makes:

THWAP!

Like a wet carpet.

So in EarthDawn, roots sound like wet carpet in ShadowRN.

I believe the dread waveform of the THWAP is caused by a cybernetic CARP,
rather than CARPET. But the sounds may be similar.
