Hello out there, I was wondering whether one a you who owns second
edition stuff could answer a question for me regarding The Grimoire. (sp?)

I've heard that it is the only sourcebook that second edition is
incompatible with, have they totally rewritten it, or as I suspect, is the
only change the spell system with regards to the new spells.

Wondering whether he'll have to buy the same sourcebook twice...

They've rewritten it. The first ed. Grimoire is in on way compatible with 2ed.

You've heard correctly, and it's significantly different. First, spells
have been totally rewritten (game mechanically). Second, they've clarified
a lot of things. And thirdly, they've added new stuff (like spell
anchoring) and some new Physical Adept abilities.

Unlike the "new" SSC, the 2nd edition Grimoire really is a different book.
