What it boils down for me is that I shelled out a lot of money for the SR3
Core Rulebooks, which were badly proofread and had spines that came apart a
week after I got them.

There is no way in Hades that I am ever going to play 4th edition unless
some other player buys them, OR I get some kind of factory exchange for my
3rd edition rulebooks and get the new books at cost.

It will take me a lot of convincing to part with the kind of money for the
new books.

Also, what is this about Edge mentioned in 4th edition? Are they poaching
stuff from Mechwarrior RPG?

<@^@> put "Robert" (without quotes) in the subject line to bypass my junk
mail filter and do not use the keywords "bank, business, credit, debt,
insurance, loan, money".

I don't really know about Mechwarrior, but SR4's Edge is basically
WoD's Willpower mixed with classic SR's Karma Pool. With some
tweaking (mostly, altering the refreshing mechanism), you can also
turn it into a universal tactical pool.

The name, maybe :) It's bascically Karma Pool but with a few different uses.

So I guess you are still using your old MS-DOS 3.0, and you wil never
change, unless they give you a refund for you old OS.

I felt the same way about WH40K. I played a lot under 2nd edition rules, but
simpley didn't like what I saw in the new rules. I quit the game, and have
never regretted since.

If you are using Windows you probably still are using DOS from that
day and age! :-) And if you are using Windows I imagine you should
ask for a refund.

That's a shame, because 3rd and 4th Edition WH40K are better
games than 2nd edition 40K. The number of egregious "rules exceptions"
has been trimmed way back, and heroes and force commanders are no longer
capable of laying waste to entire armies single-handedly. It's also a
hell of a lot faster to play. My only gripe is the AP mechanic.

Playing 40K always makes me wish GW were FASA, as far as game rules are
concerned anyway ...
