Erm... I hate to ask, but what sparked this (besides Paolo's redecoration
of the Archive, that is)? I mean, who/what was this aimed at? If this was
a reply to something else, why isn't that quoted so those of us who don't
read *every* message can tell what you're talking about?

It was sparked by Paolo's redecoration, and aimed at the list in
general... Sorry for the confusion. :)

Thank you, thank you. The re-design was 99% Paolo's work, my only
contribution to the re-design was calling it "sexy" and urging him to hurry
up :)

The increased speed is due to less database access -- we no longer load the
number of items in each area, or the description. There's a few things
that need to be changed, mostly link colours and stuff, but once we get the
entire thing working with CSS it should be fine.

BTW, my site, TSS Productions, just picked up another award -- this one for
design excellence :)

I didn't noticed the speed increase, but if there's some, well, that's
good. What should be changed in the colors? And the entire thing works with
CSS. I think, at least :)

Congrats!

BTW, I have to make some comments: the features section is not fixed, it
will change over time to accomodate all others columnnists and other
things. So, if someone doesn't find his job recognized in the home page,
just wait a bit, your turn will come. (hi, Nightlife :)

*shhh* The archive has really been ready for a month or so, but they've
decided to put back the release date by one day for each time that question
gets asked. Right now, that will see the release date sometime in the middle
of next year...

Keep asking and we'll see the archive again in the next millennium.

There is no such thing as a "ShadowRun Archive". However, there is a
"Shadowrun Archive" :-)

It's not back up yet. We're doing final work, work which got pushed back
due to Paolo moving to Canada recently, my lack of free time, and many
other factors.

We're hoping for early November, though.. :)

And let me add, for those who haven't checked it out yet (why?! :) that
the NERPS and Plastic Warriors sites are both located at the new site as
well. By the time you read this, the old sites will be replaced by

Blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah...

I don't know why no one's mentioned this yet, but the best thing about
the new archive (apart from the fact that it's up, of course), is that
it's FAST. DAMNED fast. Factor of 10 at least on my computer. And
believe me, this is a BIG selling point IMO.

Quick question/suggestion, guys.

I've tried to get into and/or submit something to the Archive (tried
yesterday and today). Now, according to the front page of the Archive,
everything's working again (including submissions), but...well, my
experience tells me otherwise.

Now I'm not looking to put pressure on you guys, so I'd just like to
know two things. Are you aware of this problem (I REALLY hope the answer
to that one is yes) and are you doing something about it (ditto)?

And now a suggestion - could someone post a message to the list to tell
us WHEN everything really IS working again? I don't know about the rest
of you, but I don't have the time to try resubmitting every day. :)

I just tried submitting something, and it appears to have worked A-okay.
One thing about submissions is we onw have a human (or Paolo:) approve them
before they actually hit the live Archive, so we don't get the
spammers/dead links/FASA copyright stuff liked we did before.

I have noticed a problem as well. External links work fine, but there
seems to be a problem with links to internal articles. By the looks
of things, there's no ID numbers associated with the links, and it
brings up a page with the following errors.

Nope, you can find the archive I was talking about under

http://archive.dumpshock.com/

You can find nearly everything from critters to weapons. Some infos
are outdated but still useful

Or you go directly to

Enjoy!
