Hi, I've heard that Wizard of the Coast Company will create a
Shadowrun Card Game (LIKE Magic:The Gathering).

Is it true? and when it will be available?

And is true that the FASA Company have built a PC VideoGame Department
and when the 1st game will be available?

I've only heard that WotC has a licence to bring out a Battletech trading
card game.
But sure, a SR card game would be cool! :-)

Oh, no!! I hope it's not true. I'm spending to much money on them
already, and if half the stories about the card games are true this
is gonna cost me a lot of money.

Greetings,

Martin

Do you think that with the number of card games all ready out that there will be
a big enough market. I for one would like to play it but only because I play
sr2. Many peeps won't know what shadowrun is *gasp*.

Actually, Shadowrun has been the fast growing RPG here in the
states...everyday more and more people find out about it and begin to play.

Last I heard is that it is true, but it isn't going to happen for some
time. WotC is going to be producing a game in cooperation with R.
Talsorian (Cyberpunk) calle _NetRunner_ sometime this year. The SR game
won't happen until after that.

IMHO, though, FASA should work with WotC to produce a supplelent to
Magic: The Gathering instead of a seperate game; because the industry
can't handle too many new games.

I believe the recent shake-up at FASA was caused by Tom Dowd moving to
the new department. I don't know how long it will take for stuff to roll
out, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a concentration on
BattleTech, at leastt initially, considering all the video games,
cartoon, etc based on the premise.

Well to add my two cents, I've heard that first WoTC will do the
Battletech game, then when that's done, the SR game will be released.
This is totally rumor, but I've heard it from a few different people, so
you never know.

Wizards of the Coast is, last I heard, working on "Netrunner,"
which will be based on the cyberspace aspects of Cyberpunk: 2020. Also
last I'd heard (though this is very likely to change), it'll be released
at this summer's Gencon in Wisconsin.

They call it something more along the lines of a Multimedia
Entertainment department (what else?), and it is now headed by Tom Dowd.
That's all anybody seems to know.

All I know is I want a Wing Commander III-like Shadowrun game on at least
8 CDroms.

Actually the game that WotC is going to bring out is based on the
CyberPunk rather than Shadowrun game system. It'll still be fun though.
Mostly Matrix combat and such

More like a prophet... Looking at what's coming out these days, games like
that should probably be around by the end of the year :) Of course, you'd
have to trade in your pentium-90 for something faster before you can play...

Ah yes... The real question, however, is where you'd get a 8+ CD tower. I
mean, I know you can get 5 CD towers (I've used on at my Dad's work), but
8??

Me, if they bring out a Shadowrun game, I don't care what it's like as long
as it's got network options, and can be used as a game aid.
