Now that I have some time, in quick reveiw here's what it says.
Jordan Weisman does consider it a "risk". Each Figure comes with a
rulebook. There is 3 waves planned, First wave has six figures as I'd
guess the rest will as well. Price looks like $15.00 US per figure right
now (website still lists no price). First wave hits in June, second in
the Fall and the third in time for the holidays. Next Year Wizkids will
publish a comic based on the figure line, each comic will include special
gear to use with the figures.
The figures were created by Design studio Plan B (who did ReSaurus's
Mage Knight figures). Articulation is up to 17 points. Articulation is
dropped in favor of form (usually depending on the clothing) on the
figure, so a lot of the female figures have far less articulation.
About computer games, Weisman said "Microsoft currently holds all
the electronic rights and is very actively exploring what direction to
take the next generation of Shadowrun software." He also said there are
no firm plans to announce yet.
About the rules, Mike Mulvihill gave the run down. More complex
mission await and there will be an advanced set up on their website for
those who want more depth. Basic game is a flat out duel of either one on
one, team vs. team, or many vs. many. Figures will have a point value to
create balanced fights. The example was two 2 point humans could fight
one 4 point troll.
Each figure gets equipped 12 "slots" worth of equipment where each
piece of equipment has a slot value in based on it's power. As stated
elsewhere, each figure comes with more equipment than can be equiped and
equipment should be able to be swapped out. (For WizKids tourneys I
expect new equipment to be the prize support.) The equipment determins
which dice are used.
Dice comes in six colors indicating Movement, Damage, Dodging, Tech
effects, and Magic effects (sixth one was not mentioned). Each Figure
comes with it's own tape measure to determine movement and range. The
dail has three "clicky dials". They represent Head (iniative and
movement), Weapon (attack Value), and Body (defense).

I hope this helps.

Or for those without direct internet access (see some of us do remember :D ):

We have a Human Female "Yakuza" (probably light cyber or an adept)
A Human Male "Vigilante" (heavy cyber by the looks of it)
An Elven Female Covert Ops Specialist (straight out of SR3)
A Human Male Street Samurai (looks like he's closer to the SR2 archetype
than the SR3)
And it looks like some of the others (including second and third waves) are
An elven Female Street Mage (straight out of SR3 including her watcher :-) )
A Dwarf Male Drone Rigger and an Orc Male (what I'm not sure but).

Looking at her more closely at what I can see, She is mostly a
Caucasian repaint of Kyushi with a new head. She bound to be that special
offer that's coming.

Well duh... the game is called Shadowrun _Duels_, after all :) Unless the
as-yet unidentified die MC23 mentioned is for Social or something, fights are
the only type of game you can play with these figures.

ouch. Can't do $10 per of 6 for $45? :)

Ooookay. So the comic will be in a box with gear? Kind of like a new Barbie
outfit and cost the same as a new doll?

That's sad. I always prefer my women with additional articulation. They
couldn't do the old Barbie thing where the joints are covered by the
plastic, so the feet and arms move without seeing the joints?

What size are they anyway? If I go the Dollar Store and buy Gen-X Knockoff
doll clothing will it fit? How about the M-16s for Action Jackson?

>About the rules, Mike Mulvihill gave the run down. More complex

So it could turn into a goal based game? Like the victory conditions in some
strategic games - whoever holds onto the briefcase for the most turns, or
killing bystanders is -1 VP, killing a ganger is +1 VP, and managing to not
kill anyone is worth +10 VP?

> Dice comes in six colors indicating Movement, Damage, Dodging, Tech

It still does not sound as fun as Weapons & Warriors and flinging battle
balls all over. Of course, no one will let me bring the game over now since
it involves flinging balls all over. Are there options for throwing the
dice?

Let's see... I'll start with Liada, Silver and Deacon. Then add Kross and
Kharkov, then finally the Vampire and the unknown burn-out/decker.

WHich means a good deal smaller than Barbie and the 12" GI Joe toys, obviously.

They are, however, the same size as He-Man (Roughly, they're not so
proportional) and the Spiderman & Marvel Legends figures produced by Toybiz.

<grin>

Hrmm, that reminds me... I have rules for a "Spider PhysAd" on my web
page, with "Spiderman" as a Shadowrunner... Time for a rules conversion,
methinks :]

Probably not. Your average 6" Toy runs $8-$10 normally. Of course, those
toys are also usually either fairly low quality, detail- and
construction-wise, or they're very mass produced (ala He-man and Marvel
Legends). And the more produced, the lower the per unit cost becomes.

So $15 for the figure, the base, the rules, rulers, dice, etc. is a pretty
good deal. I'm mildly surprised theyre ot running $18-$20 myself.

>Ooookay. So the comic will be in a box with gear? Kind of like a new
>Barbie outfit and cost the same as a new doll?
Probably not. The gear will probably be relatively small. I'd expect
either polybagged comics or a mail away coupon you'll have to send in. The
comics themselves will run around $3, likely. That's relatively standard
price for a comic (Especially one that doesn't sell 50K+ issues a month,
like Spidey or Batman), and the cost of the gear production will likely be
minimal, since they'll be small plastic guns and weapons.

>That's sad. I always prefer my women with additional articulation. They
>couldn't do the old Barbie thing where the joints are covered by the
>plastic, so the feet and arms move without seeing the joints?
Still wouldn't help. The problem is in the overall form, not in the joints
themselves. Molded clothing, or whatever, doesn't lend itself well to
articulation :]

Plus, that's a pricey addition to the figures production costs. As I
mentioned above, Barbies keep their costs down (For the real basic figures,
at least) because they sell, like, billions of those buggers
worldwide. Look at the price on their limited edition figures
sometime. That's what happens when you're production runs are under 1
million units :]

>What size are they anyway? If I go the Dollar Store and buy Gen-X Knockoff
>doll clothing will it fit? How about the M-16s for Action Jackson?
Someone else covered this and I mentioned it above, but 6". This is
becoming a standard size within tndustry, but still isn't as widespread as
3 3/4" (Star Wars and the smaller GI Joe figure sizes) or 12" (Barbie and
larger Joes). It is slowly getting more popular, I'd think, because it
allows for more detailing than the 3 3/4" figures, but it's a bit pricier
and it's harder to do Vehicles and Playsets.

>So it could turn into a goal based game? Like the victory conditions in

Potentially. <shrug> You know as much as any of the rest of us at this
point :]

Wow, I never paid that much for 6" figure.

But on the other hand I have a use for the pole-dancing Harem Xena dolls I
impulsively picked up for a couple dollars each at Toys R Us!

Anyone have a good scenario for a strip club with a Xena poser gang? I hope
at least one of the Duel figurine line will be able to use the pole for a
swing kick.
