Hello;

I've got this huge printout of a "Shadowrun Equipment Listing" that came as
a .doc file I downloaded sometime last year. It has a listing of every
piece of second gear in the game.

Does anyone know where that thing comes from?

If it what I recall, it was a document compild by someone, who was asked to
remove it from their site. (any guesses why? ;)

It comes from material copyrighted by FASA Corporation. FASA does
take issue with such 'gear lists' from their books, and as such, if
whoever compiled and posted the list you refered to still has it
available online, FASA would probably like to have a talk with them.

I compiled such a list a long time ago. I was asked by FASA to stop
distributing it. Interestingly, I never made it available in .doc format, so
maybe it got translated?

With all this talk, a question. A while ago, a suggestion for something I
could write for my website came up, and I wonder about the legality.

Sometime when I host my webpages on a server that runs a database(I can
dream), there was an idea to have a page where you could type in the
_exact name_ of a piece of gear and get info about it. For instance, type
"Remington Roomsweeper" in the box and get how much it costs, its
concealability, and its ranges, or type in Wired Reflexes, Level 3 and get
its essence cost. The database would be protected by .htacess files or a
cgi script(okay, so its a big dream) so there would be no way to get the
whole table. Theoretcally you could print out one page for every entry
and get the list, but nobody would be that desparate.

What do you think FASA's opinion of this would be? In reality SR4 or 5
will be out before I ever could afford to host my pages on a server with
the nessecary stuff, but still would like to know the legality of it.

I just want to let everyone know that I no longer have a copy of this in digital
format. I got it last year, printed the whole monster out, and then lost the
file.

So I don't have the ability to send out copies. It was a player of mine asking
about it that got me to asking the list if anyone recognized it.

When last did FASA publish a comprehaensive list of gear?
