I'm not aware of any other qualifications. 5-7-5 is the only rule that I
know.

Yes, but it gets really complicated at that point. Basically, what you write
when you write this sort of thing is called 'senryu', a sort of mock-haiku.
Most people, though, don't know the difference, so ... :)
