All this talk of conspiracies and ancient evil
secrets has gotten me thinking about the game
Illuminati. Just for fun, I started noticing
similarities between the ancient conspiracies and
power groups in Illuminati and ShadowRun:

Bavarians -> Immortal Elves (Practicing
conspiracy for millenia, very powerful)
UFOs->Great Dragons ( Never know what they
are really up to.)
Servants of Cthulhu -> Aztechnology ( Good at
destruction, struggling to bring back the "elder
gods" )
Gnomes of Zurich -> Zurich Orbital ( need I say
more )
The Network -> The Matrix, perhaps the "IT"
mentioned in VR 2.0 whatever that is.
The Discordians -> Coyotee et. al.

You know, perhaps you could improvise a cool
SR adventure by dealing out Illuminati cards like
a Tarot deck...

Gee, perhaps the similarity isn't a coincidence,
maybe there really are huge conspiracies, and
this is just how they appear in different games!
