Subject: Shadowrun Master Book and Novel Checklist...

Greetings all!

I have put together an Excel checklist of all the Shadowrun products and
novels to see what I need to get back into the game (I currently own nothing).
It also notes what products have 'replaced' other products, so you can see when
you only need to purchase the 'updated' item. Anyways, I have everything put
together and was wondering if anyone wanted to look it over and make sure it
was accurate. Email me at the below email address if you would like a copy.

On that note, my only point I am unsure about is the Rigger books (I have
never seen them). Does Rigger 2 replace the Riggers Black Book, and Rigger 3
replace Rigger 2, or are they all companions of one another?

That's about it! Thanks for your help everyone. I am keeping an eye out for a
collection so I can get back into the game! :-)

Sincerely,
Rob Harris

Most (if not all) core rulebooks (i.e. SR3, M&M, MitS, R3, Matrix,
CC and SR3C) replace their 2nd edition counterparts (respectively SR2,
Cybertech, Grimoire, R2, VR2.0, FoF and SRC). You only need the 3rd edition
books to play (hopefully, since the 2nd ed. ones aren't in print anymore)
but as usual, the more books you have, the better...

Hey there,

I believe that most of your work has already been done for you by Fanpro:
http://www.shadowrunrpg.com/products/complete.shtml

as to what you *need* well, theres a question. I gues it all comes down
to what do you want to play? High magic, high cyber? much travelling
(and thus location books), earlier in the timeline (and thus first ed
stuff) or latest (and thus only buying the stuff FanPro are currently
putting out)....

Each replaces the previous one.

Rigger 3 replaces Rigger 2 and the Rigger Black Book. That and SR3 have all
the rigger rules and are the only books you need to play a rigger. Cannon
Companion and Man & Machine give you some nice options but they are not
rigger specific. The Trauma Dampner is particularly handy for security
rigger combat and assist backlash. I found Rigger 2 easier to find things
in but that may be because I've used it for so long. A lot of stuff from
Rigger 2 didn't change in Rigger 3 but if you are making anthroform or
walker drones then Rigger 3 is a must.
