I've never GMed ShadowRun, but the closest that regular group ever
came was thinking about how we could become a licensed security corporation
so we could get legal access and permits for heavy weapons. The idea was
shelved: too many anarchists in the group.

Other than that, one ocasionally played character made his living
as a lawyer. He wasn't played much. Basically only when one of us got
arrested. I remember one of our players was dumb enough to geek a Fuchi
mid-level exec in front of some TV cameras. But then, the Kurgen wasn't
known for his 1) intelligence and 2) subtlety.

I once had a character who used his 1,000,000 =Y= to create just such an
agency. My GM was very liberal with equipment so that I did not have to
role-play the very beginning of my business. It was assumed that I had
been in biz for 1-2 years and had starting equipment and a small
reputation. I also did not have very much cyber (cost limitations). My
GM later told me that this was indicative of many of my characters: "They
are great ideas for a character but they don't actually do anything. They
just kind of sit in the background and make their rolls when they have
appropriate skills." Could have had something to do with the fact that
the group at the time was a roll-playing group (Quote: "So which corp's
guards do we get to kill tonite")
