Half an hour. it took them 15 minutes to get Calvin and Hobbes, and five
minutes to get Cerbus the Aardvark. :)

I think Snoopy would be BOTH a street sam and a rigger. Nobody has the
karate moves Snoopy has so you even consider him part phys ad. :)

Linus' blanket has to be a Power Focus and a Fetish/Geas of some kind.
Maybe the details will have to wait until MITS. :)

Peppermint Patty has to a be a trog. Maybe a bioware-laced heavy muscle
with the flaw of narcalepsy limited to school.

I think we have the making of a new web page for my site, just like the
South Park Shadowrunners that a group of us (Dvixen, Tinner, K, and me
among others) came up with last year (?) or so. :) And I like Paul's
title of "It's a Shadowrun Charlie Brown." :)

If anyone wants to contribute their ideas send them my way. :)

I think Snoopy would just have some really high level Skillwires and a
buncha Active Skill chips.

Sadly, that wouldn't happen well here. You see, we've done something *FAR*
worse already.

The Weekend Group (Padre, Herc, Gabriel and the rest) have got a series of
drones running loose with "call signs" based upon the Southpark gang.

The Weekday Group (Archer, Donny, Buzz, Angel and the rest) have got a
collection of drones with the "call signs" based upon the Peanuts. Charlie
Brown was the Lynx with a Mortar (Overpowered Grenade system actually).

OH YES!!! I like this story concept. "Halloween" will never be even close to
what this could be cooked up like. Hmmm ... what's the mission though I
wonder???

15 minutes to get Calvin and Hobbes? You're not talking about the pair
of Street Samurai from the half page story at the begining of
Paranormal Animals of North America, are you?

Alright, since I was the one who started the thread, and I've been compiling everyone's
input on this, here's my idea of how this should go:

Snoopy: Started out as a mere, mundane beagle. Was possessed by a _powerful_ player-type
Free Spirit who shapechanges him into human form in order to experience shadowruns. As
time went on and the Free Spirit maintained the possession, the two personalities began to
merge into a single one. Often displays the flights of fancy and whimsey typical of a Free
Spirit, but also evidences rather canine like behavior, such as begging for food. Doesn't
talk much, instead letting his actions speak louder than words. Unlike the stereotypical
shadowrunner, is not grim at all, but is instead, truely happy with life. When in human
form, Snoopy has a vehicle control rig (either Level 1 or Level 2), smartlink, and other
cyber, making him more competent outside the vehicle than the usual rigger (however, this
cyber is not available should the Free Spirit decide to shapechange back to beagle form,
it is only present in human form).

Charles B.: Former Company Man, owner of Snoopy. Held a position as a mid-level security
specialist with one of the megas, was comforable with his job and competent at it, though
he lacked the ambition that would have put him on the fast track to corporate advancement.
Missing most of his hair because of his participation in a product study with his
company's cosmetics division. His life was turned upside down when his pet beagle was
transformed into a novahot shadowrunner. Snoopy extracted Charles B. from the megacorp,
and started him down the life of a shadowrunner. Charles B. feels wrapped up in these
events that seem to him to be out of control, but his fatalisitc attitude carries him
along through the shadowrunner lifestyle, even though his heart is never really in it.

Linus: Young PhysAd Initiate. Linus grew up as a homeless orphan in the Barrens with his
older sister. His only prized posession was his blue "security blanket", which
he carried on himself constantly. Linus's magic manifested earlier than usual, perhaps as
a subconscious compensation for the stresses of life on the streets. Because of his strong
emotional and spiritual investments in his blanket, it has become a channel for his power.
Among Linus' powers are Improved Ability: Whips, Improved Reflexes, Magic Resistance,
Mystic Armor, Nerve Strike, and a variation of Killing Hands based off of blanket
whipping. All these powers are talisman geas-ed to his blanket, the offensive ones
requiring him to roll the blanket up and snap it like a whip, and the defensive ones
requiring him to wrap the blanket around himself as a cloak or a cape. Snoopy is somewhat
fascinated with Linus's blanket, and has attemted to swipe it on a few ocasions, sometimes
with disasterous results.

Lucy: cranky Fixer. Linus's older sister, exposed to the same rough childhood he was,
overcompensates for her vulnerablities by always trying to be in charge, and bossing other
people around. Abrasive personality, but a shrewd judge of human nature. Secretly jealous
of her younger brother's magic, torments him and the other shadowrunners on the team
because of it.

Schroder: Performance Musician & Decker. Rising synthiszier star on the local scene,
who's trademark sound combines modern rock with the stylings of Bethoven. Out of the
limelight of his budding fame, he is also a passible low level decker, who's reality
filter consists of him at a grand piano, composing a symphony in the middle of a live
concert hall performance. Lucy wants to build a closer relationship with him, but he
rejects her constant advances.

Patricia: Ork Samurai. Competent Muscle Girl with a "can-do" attitude that
doesn't let anything stand in her way. Is self conscious about her looks, secretly wants
to become closer to Charles B., but is afraid that he'll reject her. She sometimes lets
her ego get carried away with her, ignoring the orders of Charles B., making her own
decisions instead, and leading the team by giving her own orders.

Marcie: Socially Inept Decker. Not an Otaku, but could easily be mistaken for one. Seems
to have little or no understanding of how the world beyond her cyberdeck works. Always
calls Patricia "Sir", which infuriates the ork. Even when off-line, Marcie has
her eyes hidden behind a pair of round heads-up data-display mirrorshades.

That would have been my second choice, and in the end, I think I'd
want him to be a little bit of both a rigger and a sammy.

Nope. i'm talking about a shaman and his ally I did based on the Calvin and

<<Snip: Incomplete List>>

Argh! I didn't mean to send that out yet, it's unfinished! Anyway,
here's the rest of the list:

Spike: Wandering Desert Prophet, and Shaman of Indeterminate Type
(Coyote? Cactus?? Tumbleweed?!?). Spike is the team's mystery man. No
one really knows too much about him. He's very skinny, always wears a
hat, and his general appearance would lead one to believe he's been
sandblasted a few times. Spike has a long scraggly moustache, and his
skin is very dry. Is out of his element anywhere but the desert, and
this is strongly apparent to everyone. Snoopy refers to Spike as his
brother and vice-versa, for reasons no one can fathom.

Woodstock: Low Level Free Sprit: Manifests in one of two ways. Either
as a small yellow bird with erratic flight patterns, often seen
accompanying Snoopy, or as a spikey haired leader of a local
poseur-gang called the Yellow Eagles. The gang's colors are yellow
leather jackets with an eagle patch on the back, and spikey blond
hair. Woodstock is often flighty or spastic, and this character seems
to have rubbed off on the rest of his gang.

Sally B.: Corporate Advertising Writer. Sally is Charles' younger
sister, and works for the same mega that he once did. Was demoted and
given a severe pay cut when she couldn't answer the corp's questions
about why her brother was extracted. Charles feels responsible for
her, and is trying to repay her for the trouble he's caused her. Sally
is Charles' only firm link back to the life he once had, and he keeps
in touch with her often. As a result, Sally has found out much about
the shadowrunner lifestyle. She has a taste of it, but wants to know
and perhaps experience more. Is attracted to Linus, and is strongly
moved by his deep philosophical insights. He however, can not stand
her.

That's the cast list. It could maybe use a bit more tweaking. I think
maybe it needs a few more metas, maybe Schroder, or even Marcie could
be be elves, for example. Also, the team could probably use some
street names, so that people don't guess right off who the source
material is.

As for what sort of run to send them on, I suggest a simple
extraction/kidnapping. I like the idea of having The Little Red-Haired
Girl be a simsense star, because she'd make a wonderful extraction
target. (and that would be an opportunity to add in other minor
characters. Franklin could be her bodyguard, for example.)

Okay, that is a good beginning, now what I would like to see is their
contacts. This is where the "Mysterious Benefactor" (aka. the red-headed
girl) come into play. Also, the "Red Baron" of Snoopy's. Is this going to be
a Ghost or what?

Given what we we've decided here, I would say that the "red Baron" is a rigger
in the employ of the Mega that CB was "extracted" from who is part of a team
who is supposed to fetch CB back tot he tarms of the fold, so to speak. he
mostly flies chppers or planes, and it would explain why snoopy is always
running into him and having to fight him.

Either that or the RB is just a rival rigger who has a score to settle with
Snoopy for whatever reason so the two feel compelled to duke it out whenever
their paths cross. The main thing is that the RB is a rigger who prefers
aircraft and doesnt like snoopy.

Perhaps a Ghost. Or if we want to be really twisted, how about a red
western dragon?

As for other contacts, that's a bit harder, if you want them all to be
from the strip, since Peanuts really only focuses on that core group
of main characters. There are plenty of minor characters whose names
we could use, but the lack of development on several of the second
tier characters means you could probably reasonably plug them into any
contact type you want. I suppose we should have Frieda, Violet, and
Shermy in there somewhere, and maybe even some of the never seen
adults, such as Linus' teacher Miss Othmar, or Mr. Hennessey, owner of
Hennessey's Hardware Store, and sponsor of Charlie Brown's little
league team (who would be a good choice for a Mr. Johnson).
