Shadowrunnisher types....

I ran 5-10 runs back in '91-'92...PC'd some too, then my gaming pals all
headed off to various exotic locales and running kind of fell by the
wayside. Recently my fiancee' and I have gotten interested in it again.
Unfortunately for us, we live in a little po-dunk town in Louisiana where
RPG supplies are pretty much nonexistant. Until I found this listserver
(an event which I am very thankful for) I didn't even know if there were
still people out there playing SR. Now I know that there are PLENTY of
people playing it...a fact I am thrilled by.

Now...since I am in SR seclusion...can ANYONE fill me in on some things:

1. I'm interested in finding out a list of titles of ALL Shadowrun
books (modules/sourcebooks/novels/whatever) available. I read the
FAQ and hunted thru the WWW/FTP sites...but couldn't find any
such monster being offered. Can anyone help?

2. I'm interested in knowing what the general differences/changes
are between the first and second editions of the main Shadowrun
sourcebook. I still have the old one since the 2nd Edition came
out after we'd quit gaming. I've been polishing up on GM-type
things recently...but dont wanna polish up stuff that is changed
in the second edition (which I will get as soon as I either find
a good RPG place in a nearby town or locate FASA's address). Any
bits of info anyone can give me?

That's all....

Hasta.

Dave

The FASA catalog or price sheet would be a good starting point... also, the
Shadowrun survey that went down about a month ago lists virtually all the
available books. The results were posted on the list by JD Falk (I believe)
a few weeks ago, and the next edition will feature the most important
net.sourcebooks for Shadowrun as well. You could contact the guy who
compiled the survey: brooks@****.ee.wits.ac.za

They smoothed out the combat system, altered the magic system a bit, and
dropped in the decking rules from Virtual Realities. All in all, it all goes
much smoother than the first-edition rules, since they've taken out the
weapons' staging in combat (all attacks now have a staging of 2), Drain is
much easier to resist (one-half Force as the base TN instead of the full
Force of the spell), and decking... well, I believe I've made this clear
before, I personally hate the SR2 decking rules (I liked those from the 1st
edition better :)

You also asked for FASA's address (I believe they have a mail-order
service)... From the Lone Star sourcebook:

FASA Corporation
1100 W. Cermak
Suite B305
Chicago, IL 60608

Another Option for ordering is to get a hold of the either

War Games West 1-800 # and Catalog
or The Armory's # and catalog

IF anyone knows the numbers - you might want to send them to him
