Hey Fro, mind if I ask a dumb question....what program should we use to read
this thing? I use text editors (long live Q-Edit!) 90% of the time, and M$
Word the other 10%....I tried Word, and I got the whole thing in a column
that filled less than half the screen, and looked WAY big (text font that is).

Eek! the first formatting problem. I made the darned thing in MS Word, so
you shouldn't be having problems with it. Quick check, did you toss the
fonts into /windows/fonts? I know that can create problems, if it can't
find the fonts. The main part from the magazine is in 2 columns, and the
first page is only one, the first page does have Way Big fonts though :)

Windows WordPad/Write should open it with some of the formatting intact,
not including colums, but including fonts, I think. I guess if you're
desperate, you can read the text version in good old Q-edit, but I think
its damned ugly ;) (And Boxer is much better :)

Not trying to get back into that old formats debate, I know RTF is not the
best, but its the best I can do now. Hopefully among a few million other
things, I can scrounge the cash up for Adobe Acrobat.

Well, I made sure it found the fonts, and it did change the format a bit,
but it is still only one column. (Word 7.0, Win 95 (I'm at work, not by
choice))

Boxer is so big. Qedit is the tiny little powerhouse I need.

Are you in page layout mode or normal mode?

Mike Elkins enlightened us with these words of wisdom:
>>but it is still only one column.
>Are you in page layout mode or normal mode?

Bingo! Fixed. I was in Normal. I wanted Page Layout.

Thanks. Now I get to see if I can roast Fro. :)

Just kidding Fro...looks like nice work so far....and I admire anyone
willing to take on this task.....I know the difficulty involved in getting
submissions. (say....maybe we can work a deal....)

While I'm probably the last person on earth to find this, I was VERY
impressed with the quality and wanted to put out a kudos for the people
involved. I promised - a donation is coming your way as soon as I get
my credstick out of hock! So, excellant job to Charles, Adam, Elissa,
Chris, Jeff and David!

If you don't know what I'm talking about, I found it through the RSS
feed at http://tss.dumpshock.com/

Thanks

Tim
