Okay - before your pulses skyrocket.. this is just something I found on the
net... I'm not posting it because, a) I don't really know who owns it, and
b) it's over 40mb - and having all you hungry tiggers jumping on it would
axe my bandwidth hardcore.
But I did want to describe it and see if you guys have seen or heard of
it... It's mostly in German (a few English phrases). It covers the
history of the Shadowrun universe with text over a militaristic background
(reminiscent of WWII footage, heavily edited), then jumps into a montage of
classic cyberpunk movie clips, all over some music that has to be from
another movie trailer... Quite nicely done, I think, for amateur
work. Anyway, I can't tell if they just wanted to encourage people to play
Shadowrun or if they were attempting to emulate the recent slew of teaser
trailers for non-existant movies...

The credits at the end say:
Mein Name ist Tobias Eser (my name is Tobias Eser)
Ich bin 21 Jahre alt und komme aus Lübeck (I am 21 and come from Lübeck)
Ich suche einen Job als (I am searching for a job as a Media editor (?))
Mediengestalter.
te@*********.net

Anyway, I'm too tired right now to try to write to him about it, but if
anyone here is fluent auf deutsch, mind dropping him a line and asking
what's up? If I can get permission, I'll put it up somewhere (if I can
find the bandwidth).

P.S. Emule. Search: "Shadowrun Trailer" - that's how I found it.

Thanks Snicker. But which search engine did you use to do that search ?
I just googled and it said none found.

It's a client (primarily?) the (P2P) eDonkey file sharing network.
Looks like it's windows only.

If you are using Gentoo linux <URL: http://www.gentoo.org/ >, there
are a few compatible clients. Knowing very little I'd suggest
emerging mldonkey or kmldonkey, if you use KDE. Other choices are, of
course, visible in the portage tree under net-p2p.

Thanks, Twink Daddy....
It was mostly a note to help those who already had it. As I said, if I
can get permission, I'll sneak it onto my work server for a few days, let
you guys leech to your hearts content. I'm the IT director, so it's not
like I'll get "caught" - but I have to maintain a responsibility to our
clients needs as well ;)

Some months ago, FanPro has asked German Shadowrun players to shoot short
movies about Shadowrun and its background. You probably picked one of those
and there should be (not sure, haven't checked lately) more of those
fan-made
movies at http://www.fanpro.com/

So far
JL

PS:
Being German myself, I am quite fluent in German, so if you still need
someone
who is, just mail me.

I haven't found the trailers yet, but I did find a collection of wallpapers
I hadn't seen before. They're covers & interior art, but with complementing
borders. I only had plain covers before, so this is great.

I'm getting by with google's translation of the page, but it's obviously
confused in places <g>.

There's 5 movies, total, it seems. The movies are quitee amusing, but
awfully hard to figure out for an English-only speaker. Some are bettert hen
others. If anyone feels up to creating subtitles/script I'd be appreciative.

IMHO, 'Illusions' is probably the best of the lot, followed by 'dice' and
'deus-ex-machina'. I cant speak german but illusions was done well enough
that you dont seem to lose quite as much of the experience of watching it by
not understanding the language. It certainly brings me back to the days when
I wanted to make a fanflick for SR.

And no, Im sorry but I cant host them either (if anyone needed them hosted
to get at them). I dont have that much bandwidth for my personal webpages.

Which I think pretty much mirrors the order, n'est ce pas?

http://www.fanpro.com/nav.swift?group=sr01&url=sr/srfilm.htm

No need to mirror them, since they actually have them online already
;) The only problem I had was with the spoken German in the
trailers. Totally clueless there. But this looks like it was an awesome
project - and hey, looks like the next one is set for January,
2005... Anyone got a camera? *grins*

One of the guys I work with was a film major in College and has talked
about doing a Star Wars fan film (which have been poorly done to
death). I'll bring up the ShadowRun idea to him and let you guys know

I've been collecting props for stuff like this for years ;) Gotta find a
"new" zx81, though - my last one got stolen. It'd be neat if we could put
together some montage clips and submit it as the list ;)
