Well, let me say that our group was impressed with Shadowtech. Very
impressed. However, we also had some severe problems with some of the
rules. So we spent about two hours debating and came up with some rules
which everyone could agree on. The first thing was the cost of Surgery
for cyberware. Given that about the average run pays only about 30,000
we figured that it would be impossible for any normal runner to actually
pay for almost any new cyberware(Besides the fact that getting a cheap
replacment arm would cost you a quarter of a mil!!!).

So the house rules which we are using go as follows:
The cost for surrgery includes in it the price of the surgeon and hospital
surgery room. We decided to give the maximum bonus for having a really
talented surgeon doing the work(the -20%). However, we also decided that
a street doc would be equipped to do the work also. Unfortunately the
person wouldn't be able to get the talented surgeon work(and possible get
the penalty for a shitty doc). The price for such surgery would be a
percentage of the cyber being implanted.

We also decided that Alpha would be more common. One of our group gave an
impassioned speech where he described alpha as basically the difference
between going to CompUSA and buying a computer, and going to 'Flash' and
getting him to build you a P130, with all the works. Still getting the
price increase for the Alpa ware, however, the 50 multiplier for surgery
no longer applies(If that were the case, a alpha arm would cost 12.5
MILLION to install).

Speaking of arms, we also kicked around some other rules for Arms. We
decided to make them so that Arms came at Racial Average(3 for humies, and
modified for the other races). And getting the arms modified up to the
racial max would never take essence. And then above the racial max, the
increased price would take effect, but the essence would be optional(we
came to an agreement, that if anyone decided to not pay the extra essence
for the extra mounting to the flesh, they would have the arm messily rip
from thier body if they over-extended themselves).

Those are our fixes for some of OUR problems with Shadowtech. What do you
guys think?
